DIODE LED REIGN® Wall Mount LED Dimmer Switches Installation guide

  • Hello! I've reviewed the Installation Guide for the diode led REIGN series dimmer switches, specifically models 1150-** and 1151-**. This document provides safety warnings, wiring instructions, and troubleshooting tips. It also details the key features of the dimmers, including their compatibility with 12-24VDC systems and their indoor rating. I'm ready to assist you with any questions you may have about these dimmer switches.
  • What is the maximum load for the dimmer?
Can this dimmer be used outdoors?
What type of wiring should be used?
What is the ambient temperature range for this dimmer?
What should I do if the fixture does not illuminate?

Safety & Warnings
Prior to installaon, verify all components are a compable system. Congure and pre-test your LED system prior to permanent installaon to ensure all
components are operang correctly. Install in accordance with the NEC and local regulaons.
Install in accordance with the Naonal Electric Code, and local
regulaons.
This product is intended to be installed and serviced by a qualied,
licensed electrician.
DO NOT connect directly to high voltage power. Install with a compable
Class 2 constant voltage LED driver (power supply).
Only install compable LED drivers and xtures. Contact technical
support or visit the product page for compable products.
This product is rated for indoor installaon and is not protected against
moisture.
Proper heat dissipaon will prolong the working lifespan of this product.
Install in a well-venlated area free from explosive gases and vapors.
Ensure applicable wire is installed between driver, xture, and any
controls in between. When choosing wire, factor in voltage drop,
amperage rang, and type (in-wall rated, wet locaon rated, etc.).
Inadequate wire installaon could overhead wires, and cause a re.
Do not modify or disassemble this product beyond instrucons or the
warranty will be void.
Installation
WARNING Shock Hazard. May result in serious injury or death.
Turn OFF High Voltage AC Power at the main breaker.
Determine Locaons to Install 3 Main Components.
Refer to the ‘System Diagram.

REIGN® 12-24V BUTTON/FULL SLIDE DIMMER SWITCH
Install Addional Components, Verify Connecons, and Turn
Main Power ON at Breaker.
6
If system remains unresponsive or is working improperly, turn OFF
main power at breaker and verify all connecons. Review the ‘Wiring
Connecons’, ‘System Diagrams’, and dimming control installaon guides.
Replace wiring back into wall box. Break o appropriate ns
when ganging mulple dimmers. Screw dimmer and faceplate
to wall box.
5
Never install low and high voltage wiring in the same wall box. A physical
divider must exist when ganging low voltage and high voltage controls.
To detach a n, grip with pliers and bend back/forth unl it detaches.
Unlike high voltage dimmers, de-rang the dimmer maximum load is not
required when ganging low voltage controls.
* Driver may not require a fault ground connecon. Refer to driver
specicaons for addional informaon.
*** Install a Class 2 constant voltage driver compable with a low voltage
PWM controller.
**** No more than one PWM controller/dimmer switch can be aached
to a single output of the driver.
‡ Refer to driver specicaons for a compable juncon box.
‡‡ See xture specicaons for maximum series run limits.
The following diagram is provided as an example system design. Class 2 compliance requires a Class 2 driver per REIGN dimmer (e.g. 60W @ 12V, 96W
@ 24V). Install in accordance with the NEC, and local regulaons.

REIGN® 12-24V BUTTON/FULL SLIDE DIMMER SWITCH
Troubleshooting
Fixture does not illuminate Verify the system is wired correctly & ensure polaries are correct.
Ensure the driver and xture have the same voltage speciaons (12V & 12V, or 24V & 24V).
Fixture illuminates, dimmer controls are
unresponsive
Verify the following connecons &ensure polaries are correct: Driver Output is connected
to Dimmer Input; Dimmer Output is connected to LED Load. If the driver is connected to the
Dimmer Input than the dimmer controls will not funcon properly.
Fixture is consistently ashing or ickering
Ensure no more than a single dimmer is aached to each driver output.
Verify a compable constant voltage driver is installed.
Ensure a compable constant voltage dimmable xture is installed.
Fixture is inconsistently ashing or ickering Verify all connecons are properly secured. Ensure all accessories are properly connected.
Fixture is slowly ashing Ensure driver is not overloaded. An overloaded driver will cause the internal auto-reset of the
driver to trip repeatedly.
Shi in brightness of xture array
Verify the appropriate size wire gauge (AWG) has been installed. See the Tools & Resources’
page at www.DiodeLED.com for Voltage Drop Charts.
Ensure xture length is not exceeding maximum run limit.
Driver is buzzing Verify the constant voltage driver is compable with compable with PWM controls. See
the driver specicaon sheet and check the ‘Dimmability’ specicaon.
Prior to troubleshoong, ensure a compable system is installed. Verify compable xtures, drivers, controls and addional components were
specied correctly.
