SUMMARY:
The inrush PC board (PN-38242) is intended to protect the input bridge from high inrush currents on
power up. We have experienced several failures of this board when the power source is installed on
stiff (non-drooping) primary mains. In these cases the power source inrush current can reach
abnormally high levels very quickly causing PCB and other component failures.
We have made several changes to the PCB circuitry and components to improve reliability on
installations having stiff primary mains. These changes render the original PCB (marked Rev OR) as
obsolete. The new PCB now carries the Rev “A” identification and can be identified by the board
mounted thermistors replacing the ceramic resistors. See photo below
