ADJUSTMENTS
Compression damping
Low speed: Turn the slotted centre
screw. High speed: Turn the hexagon
screw. Turn clockwise (+) to increase
damping, turn counter clockwise (-) to
decrease.
Rebound damping
Turn the screw above the end eye/
bracket. Turn clockwise (+) to increase
damping, turn counter clockwise (-) to
decrease.
NOTE!
When delivered the Öhlins shock absorber
is dialed to recommended settings for the
specific brand and make of the vehicle. If you
have changed the setting, reset according to
the Set-up data.
To reset: The adjuster has a right hand thread.
Turn the adjuster clockwise to fully closed
(pos. zero [0]). Turn counter clockwise to
open and count the clicks until you reach the
recommended number in the Set-up data.
CAUTION!
Do not use force, delicate sealing surfaces can
be damaged. Handtighten only.

Before installing this product, check
the contents of the kit listed below. If
anything is missing, please contact your
nearest Öhlins dealer.
Kit Contents

During storage and transportation,
especially at high ambient temperature,
the oil and grease used for assembling
may run out inside the packing and
damage the expanded polystyrene
packing material. This is not unusual
and is in no way detrimental to the
product.

Mounting Instructions
SHOCK ABSORBER YA 955 Rear
for Yamaha FX Nytro XTX
with set-up data
Before riding, always ensure that the basic
settings made by Öhlins are intact.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING!
It is advisable to have an Öhlins dealer install
the shock absorber.

Loosen the front and rear attachments, and
remove the original rear shock absorber.

Loosen the pull rods.

Widen the space between the pull rods by
installing the four washers provided in this kit.
See figure. Also, replace the original screws
with the screws provided in this kit.

Compression damping High speed 1½ turns
Compression damping Low speed 20 clicks
Rebound damping 20 clicks
Shock absorber data
Length 429.5 mm
Stroke 145.5 mm

Install the Öhlins shock absorber with the
reservoir down and towards the front. See
figure.
NOTE!
Make sure that all bolts are tightened to the
correct torque and that nothing fouls or restricts
movement of the shock absorber when the
suspension is fully compressed or extended.
