ADJUSTMENTS
Compression damping
Low speed: Turn the slotted centre
screw. High speed: Turn the hexagon
screw. Turn clockwise (+) to increase
damping, turn counter clockwise (-) to
decrease.
Rebound damping
Turn the screw above the end eye/
bracket. Turn clockwise (+) to increase
damping, turn counter clockwise (-) to
decrease.
NOTE!
When delivered the Öhlins shock absorber
is dialed to recommended settings for the
specific brand and make of the vehicle. If you
have changed the setting, reset according to
the Set-up data.
To reset: The adjuster has a right hand thread.
Turn the adjuster clockwise to fully closed
(pos. zero [0]). Turn counter clockwise to
open and count the clicks until you reach the
recommended number in the Set-up data.
CAUTION!
Do not use force, delicate sealing surfaces can
be damaged. Handtighten only.

Before installing this product, check
the contents of the kit listed below. If
anything is missing, please contact your
nearest Öhlins dealer.

During storage and transportation,
especially at high ambient temperature,
the oil and grease used for assembling
may run out inside the packing and
damage the expanded polystyrene
packing material. This is not unusual
and is in no way detrimental to the
product.

WARNING!
It is advisable to have an Öhlins dealer install
the shock absorber.

Compress the rear end so that the limiter straps
no longer are tight.
WARNING!
Make sure the vehicle is securely positioned so
that it will not tip!

Remove the 2+2 lower screws of the center and
rear limiter straps.

Raise the rear end of the snowmobile so that the
track is off the ground. Make sure the vehicle is
securely supported so that it will not tip over.

Loosen the rear springs.
WARNING!
The spring are heavily preloaded! It is very
important to hold the spring in a firm grip
when removing the attachment. Use gloves for
protection!

Remove the original rear shock absorber.

Install the Öhlins shock absorber. Reuse the
screws and sleeves from the original shock
absorber according to figure.

Compress the rear end and reinstall the 2+2
lower screws of the limiter straps and the original
preload springs. Make sure that all parts are
securely attached.
NOTE!
The rear arm must go backwards when
compressing the rear!
NOTE!
Make sure that all bolts are tightened to the
correct torque and that nothing fouls or restricts
movement of the shock absorber when the
suspension is fully compressed or extended.

When riding the snowmobile wearing all your
riding gear, you must increase or decrease the
rear spring until the lower part of the rear arm is in
a vertical position. The spring preload adjustment
is based on your total weight (including luggage
or a passenger). Read more about the shock
absorber in your Öhlins Owner’s Manual.
