Quick Start Guide
Multi-protocol thin client
Thin Client
The Amulet Hotkey DXMP 5000 Thin Client is a compact, multi-protocol client that
delivers powerful performance in virtualized and cloud deployments that require
simplicity and security.
The DXMP 5000 combines security and multi-protocol capability to support mixed-
protocol environments. With advanced thermal and EMI management in a robust
metal enclosure, the DXMP 5000 can connect to virtual or cloud desktops and
applications as well as to physical desktops.
The DXMP 5000, based on the Intel Core i5-7300U, supports two heads of video at
the desktop. The DXMP 5000 has four USB 2.0 ports, and one charging USB 3.0
port on the front. The DXMP 5000 has an RJ45 network port and is supplied with a
PSU and power cable. A version is also available with a built-in card-reader.
Before you start
You must first configure a remote computer, ready for connection to the
DXMP 5000. The remote computer must be powered and connected to the
appropriate network. You may need the IP address of the host.
STEP 1: Connect the monitors, Ethernet and power supply
1. Connect at least one compatible monitor to an HDMI port (1) on the unit.
2. Connect the network cable to the RJ45 Ethernet port (2).
3. Connect the locking connector from the supplied PSU (3) and plug into a
suitable outlet that is switched off.

STEP 3: Turn on the DXMP 5000
1. Switch the power supply on at the outlet.
2. Press the power button on the front of the DXMP 5000 thin client.
The power button illuminates and the thin client boots up.
Example connection to a host directly (Teradici PCoIP)
1. Get the IP or MAC address of the PCoIP host that you want to connect to.
2. Click on the Teradici PCoIP logo icon on the desktop.
3. Enter the IP or DNS name of the remote host.
After displaying the BIOS screen, the thin client desktop appears. Depending on
the network configuration, the desktop will show the connection icons.
STEP 4: Connecting the DXMP 5000 to a remote desktop
Configurations may vary according to individual deployments. Depending on the
setup configured by your systems administrator, there may be icons on the
desktop to initiate connections, or you may be routed straight to the host desktop.
There are three possible connection scenarios:
1. Automatic logon - automatic routing to your remote desktop at power-on.
2. Use a connection broker - select a connection method (for example Vmware®
Horizon, Citrix® XenDesktop or Teradic PCoIP) and enter the broker DNS or IP
information.
3. Connect directly to a host - select a connection method and enter the DNS or
IP information for the host.
Example connection using a connection broker (VMware Horizon)
Depending on the broker setup, this may route you automatically to your desktop,
or require you to select a host from a list. This example is for automatic routing:
1. Click on the VMware logo icon on the desktop.
The VMware Add Server window appears.
2. Enter the DNS name or IP address of the connection broker and click Connect.
The Login window appears.
3. Enter your username and password.
The connection broker routes you to your allocated desktop.
4. Enter your user name and password.
The PCoIP client routes you to the host desktop associated with your username.
