Thermo King Precedent Fuel Filter Retrofit Kit 100631 Installation guide

  • Hello! This document details the installation process for a fuel filter retrofit kit on Thermo King's Precedent C-600, C-600M, and G-700 models. I've reviewed the instructions, which include steps for removing the old filter, installing the new components, connecting the sensor harness, software configuration, and testing. I'm ready to assist with any questions you have about this procedure.
  • What needs to be removed during the fuel filter replacement?
What is the required tightening torque for the mounting bracket?
What is the required tightening torque for the filter head?

Overview
Existing fuel filter assembly will be removed and replaced with components supplied in the kit.
Fuel lines will be reconnected to the new filter head and fittings.
New sensor harness will be connected to the bottom of the new filter.
Sensor harness will be routed inside control box and two wires inserted into connector ((JJ11)).
Software SR4 BA75 (ST) or CA45 (MT) & HMI 7A70 or newer will be required to perform
setup procedures to ensure the WIF sensor is activated.

Component Installation
1. Install new mounting bracket ((994400331177)) onto bulkhead with supplied hardware.
a. Tighten hardware to 12.8 Nm (9.5 ft-lb).
NNoottee:: It is recommended to install fittings onto filter head bbeeffoorree installing onto bulkhead
bracket.
2. Install supplied fuel fittings onto new filter head.
3. Install filter head with filter onto bracket with supplied hardware.
a. Tighten hardware to 38–50 Nm (28–37 ft-lb).
4. Reconnect fuel lines to filter head.
NNoottee:: Trim supply and return lines for better fit up if required. Use supplied ((110000224433)) eyelet
and ferrule for 1/4” lines and ((110000224422)) eyelet and ferrule for 3/8” lines.

Harness Routing Tip:
The sensor harness needs to be routed under the battery tray and up into the control box. Normally the bottom pan would need to be
removed to accomplish this.
The following steps are shown a way to avoid removing the bottom pan.
Refer to Figure 6.
5. Take approximately 24” piece of clean 3/8” fuel line.
a. Insert harness wires into end of the fuel line.
b. Use electrical tape to secure the harness to the fuel line.
c. Feed fuel line with harness down through slot of the bottom pan, under the battery, and
back up inside the unit near the control box.

6. Unwrap electrical tape and remove harness from fuel line.
7. Secure fuel harness to the large cable bundle as it enters the control box.
8. Route harness into the control box through the rear access.
9. Remove connector ((JJ11)) from the control board.
a. Remove the terminal lock.
b. Insert wire WWIIFFPP0011 into cavity ##66 until it locks firmly in place.
c. Insert wire WWIIFFNN0011 into cavity ##1188 until it locks firmly in place.
d. Reinstall terminal lock.

10.Reconnect connector into control board until it locks firmly in place.
11.Secure excess harness inside control box with band wraps.
12.Reinstall battery and reconnect power to the unit.
13.If the unit doesn’t have SR4 BA75 (ST) or CA45 (MT) & HMI 7A70 or newer software, please
flash load the unit to the latest versions. This will ensure the WIF sensor is activated.
14.Prime fuel system with SR4 controller according to the service manual.
15.Verify engine is running normal in low and high speed.
16.Verify there are no fuel leaks.
17.Remove labels from fuel lines.
18.Return unit to service.
