Installation Instructions

Precedent™ Flush Mounted Status Light

IImmppoorrttaanntt:: BEFORE beginning the installation disconnect all power to the refrigeration unit

including standby power (if equipped).

The status light is to be mounted on the trailer in a location visible in the tractor mirror to the

driver.

1. Use bracket as a guide and drill three 3/16'' mounting holes into trailer.

a. Secure bracket to trailer with supplied rivets.

2. Secure harness to bracket and trailer using supplied clamps and rivets.

3. Provide a “drip-loop” to prevent water from migrating into the status light.

4. Route harness to unit.

Harness Connection (except S-750i)

NNoottee:: Status light connections will be made at the circuit board(s) inside the control box.

1. Route harness into control box through rear harness entry point and make the following

connections:

• Connect 4–pin harness connector to matching connector ((JJ88)) on circuit board.

FFUUEELL CCOOMMBBOO aanndd TTRRIIPPLLEE CCOOMMBBOO DDIISSPPLLAAYY CCOONNNNEECCTTIIOONNSS

• Connect 4–pin harness connector to matching connector ((JJ88)) on circuit board.

• Connect 8-pin harness connector to CAN2 ((JJ1133)). If this position is occupied use CAN1 ((JJ1122)).

• Multi-Temp units can also use JJ5500 on the expansion board.

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTES:

If all CAN ports are occupied: use the CAN adapter Y-harness (424992) available from your Thermo King Dealer. This will allow two

harnesses to be connected to one CAN port.

If TK BlueBox is installed: additional CAN adapter Y-harness (424992) should be installed between the BluBox and the J13 connector. DO

NOT install CAN adapter harness between the HMI and the J12 connector.

2. Be sure connector is locked securely in place on the circuit board(s).

3. Bundle and secure any excess harness with band wraps to main harness behind battery tray.

4. Restore power to unit and verify status light functions properly.

NNoottee:: Status light connections will be made to the capped off mating harnesses provided

underneath the control box.

1. Route harness into the unit near the battery and control box and make the following

connections:

• Connect 6–pin harness connector to mating harness connector.

• Connect 8–pin harness connector to mating harness connector.

2. Be sure connectors are locked securely in place.

3. Bundle and secure any excess harness to other harnesses with band wraps
