Valued Thermadyne Service Provider,
Light entering a Blue pin at one end will exit the Black pin at the other end and can be tested with a
flashlight. This does not guarantee the fiber is not damaged.
Although the connectors will pass through our standard sheet metal holes without disassembly,
installers have disassembled and reassembled them incorrectly. Incorrect assembly will cause a 5-1 code.
The view in the attached picture (next page) is the correct arrangement of the cables in the
connector assemblies.
* When plugged into the Gas Box PCB the Black pin will enter the Grey U36 port and the Blue pin will enter
the Black U35 port.
* When plugged into the CCM the Black pin will enter the Grey U9 port and the Blue pin will enter the Black
U12 port.
The CCM initialization signal can be seen at the GCM end of the cable emanating from the Blue pin as a
flash of light at a frequency of approximately 4 times per second.
Intermittent error codes of 5-2, 3-1 or 3-2 with fiber runs longer than 80 feet and CCM firmware V2.2, have
been cured with later CCM firmware releases.
