The problem below (melting the front end of the tip at the first piercing ) can be caused when the Pilot Return
Wire gets pinched in the power track, or “pinched inside the Torch barrel” or somewhere that it grounds out.
This makes the tip always connected to work (table or earth Ground), so current flows in the tip all during
the cut.
We highly recommend to check your Wiring connections in the event that you experience this issue.
