NCTC cloudUC is packed with many advanced features that will enhance your day to
day business activities and make your life easier. This guide is designed to help you use
some of the most popular features of NCTC cloudUC with your new Polycom VVX
400/410 phone right out of the box.
Before You Start
You should configure your account settings in the NCTC cloudUC portal. Go to
clouduc.nctc.com to log in. To log in, you must have your NCTC cloudUC username
and password. If you do not know your NCTC cloudUC username and password,
contact your administrator. Once logged in, you can create your profile settings, set up
your voicemail, set up call forwarding, upload phone lists and more.

Get to Know Your Phone
In an idle state, your screen will display your extension and soft keys. The Home screen is
displayed when you press the Home Key. From here, you can initiate new calls and
access your messages, directories, settings and applications.
The Basics
Soft Keys
The soft keys located underneath the phone screen perform the functions that appear
directly above them on the display. Their functions are context sensitive, which means
the function of the soft keys change depending on your current activity. For example, if
you are conferencing, the soft keys will display functions related to conferencing.
Line Keys
With the VVX 400/410, you have the ability to access up to 12 lines. The line keys,
located to the left and right of the phone screen, indicate the status of your lines and
associated activity. The backlighting informs you when a line is idle, ringing, in use, on
hold or disconnected.
Navigation Keys
The Navigation keys allow you to scroll through the options and lists on the display by
pressing left, right, up or down. To select an item, press the Select button (the button in
the center of the navigation keys).

Setting up Voicemail
Press the Message key (envelope icon) or place a call to *62
At the prompt, enter a unique pass code then press #
Re-enter your passcode then press #
Follow the instructions to record your name
Follow the prompts to:
o Access your voicemail box
o Access the greetings menu
o Change call forwarding options
o Make a call
o Change your passcode
o Exit the voice portal
Retrieve Voicemail Messages
A red message waiting indicator light notifies you when you have a new voicemail
message. If you have more than one message, the count will be displayed near the
message icon.
To check your voicemail, press the Message key (envelope icon). You may also
place a call to *62
If prompted, enter your voicemail pass code then press #
Follow the audio prompts
Answer a Call
To answer a call, simply pick up the handset or press the Answer key displayed on the
touchscreen, press the Speakerphone key or press the Headset key (if using a headset).
Place a Call
To place a call, simply pick up the handset, press the Speakerphone key or press the
Headset key (if using a headset). Dial the number you wish to call.
Other Features
Other Ways to Place a Call
To dial a recently placed call:
Access the Recent Call List
o From the idle screen, press the Callers soft key. The Recent Call List will be
displayed
o Scroll to the contact you wish to call then press the Dial soft key the call
is automatically placed

To Call From the Directory
o From the idle screen, press the Dir soft key or from the Home screen, select
Directories then select Contact Directory
o Scroll to the contact you wish to call then press the Dial soft key the call
is automatically placed
Hold and Resume a Call
To place a call on Hold, press the Hold key
To resume a held call, press the Hold key or press the Resume soft key
Make a Three-Way Call
After first call is connected, press the More soft key, then press the Confrnc soft
key
Dial the next party
When the call connects, press the More soft key then press the Confrnc soft key
again
Note: if you drop out of a three-way call, all other parties will be disconnected
Do Not Disturb
To enable Do Not Disturb, press the DND soft key or place a call to *78
To disable Do Not Disturb, press the DND soft key again or place a call to *79
While in DND, any calls to your number will be sent to voicemail
Transfer a Call
While on an active call, press the Transfer key or press the More soft key then
press the Transfer soft key the current call is placed on hold
To Transfer the call unannounced:
o Press the Blind soft key
o Dial the phone number or extension number
o The call will transfer automatically
To Transfer the call announced:
o Dial the phone number or extension number
o When the second party answers, announce the transfer
o Press the Transfer key again to complete the transfer
To Transfer to voicemail
o Place the active call on hold
o Place a new call to *55
o Follow the prompts, you can transfer the caller to your mailbox or the
mailbox of another user
o A confirmation will announce the transfer has been completed

Call Forwarding
Press the Home key
Select the Forward icon then select from the forward type you wish to use
o Call Forward Always
o Call Forward No Answer
o Call Forward Busy
Enter the destination number then tap the Enable soft key
To disable, follow the same directions, then tap the Disable soft key
Call Forwarding Shortcuts
You may also configure your call forwarding using star codes. To access call
forwarding via star codes, place a call to the codes below and follow the
prompts
o *72 Activate Call Forward Always
o *91 Activate Call Forward Busy
o *92 Activate Call Forward No Answer
o *73 Deactivate Call Forward Always
o *91 Deactivate Call Forward Busy
o *93 Deactivate Call Forward No Answer
