Q-Screen Guide
Q-Screens are inserted through the top of the Q-Cup sample holder and used to contain or compress the sample for
the EDGE Extraction System.
Q-Screen Kit (525200)
Contains one Q-Screen tool and 12 Q-Screens
Q-Screen (525350)
Q-Screen Tool (153590)
Uses:
To contain large and powder-like samples in the Q-Cup
To compress absorbent samples
To confine floating samples and submerge them in solvent
How to Use
1. It is important that the Q-Screen and Q-Cup are clean prior to inserting the Q-Screen. Please review
cleaning directions below prior to using Q-Screens.
2. Insert the Q-Screen evenly on top of the Q-Cup with the screen facing down.

3. Use the wider end of the tool to insert the Q-Screen until it either touches the sample or reaches the
end of the tool.
4. To remove the Q-Screen, use the smaller end of the tool to carefully push the screen through the top
opening of the Q-Cup.
How to Clean
Clean both Q-Cups and Q-Screens with organic solvent. Optional cleaning procedures are outlined below
using LUMINOX or pH-neutral and aluminum-safe cleaner.
