power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed

When calling for support, please have all product information and serial numbers available so we can ensure your
product has been registered.
Limited Warranty:
PYRO AV warrants that this product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five years
from the date of purchase. If a product proves to be defective during this warranty period, PYRO AV, at its option will
either repair the defective product without charge for parts and labor, or will provide a replacement in exchange for
the defective product.
In order to obtain service under this warranty, you the Customer, must notify PYRO AV of the defect before the
expiration of the warranty period and make suitable arrangements for the performance of service. The Customer
shall be responsible for packing and shipping the defective product to a service center designated by PYRO AV, with
shipping charges prepaid. PYRO AV shall pay for the return of the product to the Customer via ground postal or UPS
shipping if the shipment is to a location located in the same country as the service center. Customer shall be
responsible for paying all shipping charges, insurance, duties, taxes and any other charges for products returned to
any other country.
This warranty shall not apply to any defect, failure or damage caused by improper use or improper or inadequate
maintenance and care. PYRO AV shall not be obligated to furnish service under this warranty; a.) to repair damage
resulting from attempts by personnel other than PYRO AV representatives to install, repair or service the product, b.) to
repair damage resulting from improper use or connection to incompatible equipment, c.) to repair any damage or
malfunction caused by the use of non-PYRO AV parts or supplies, or d.) to service a product that has been opened,
modified or integrated with other products when the effect of such a modification or integration increases the time or
difficulty of servicing the product.
THIS WARRANTY IS GIVEN BY PYRO AV IN LIEU OF OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. PYRO AV AND ITS
SUPPLIERS DISCLAIM ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. PYRO
AV’S RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR OR REPLACE DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS IS THE WHOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY PROVIDED
TO THE CUSTOMER FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES IRRESPECTIVE OF

SDI2DV Converter is a bidirectional DV to SDI converter with
embedded audio functionality for affiliates, broadcasters,
producers, studios and the portable NLE markets. The embedded
audio transmitter and receiver conform to SMPTE 272M-A (audio at
48kHz, synchronous to video).

Enable device control as well as original time code by connecting your deck to the SDI2DV Converter
via the RS-422 port.
Decode/Encode
The SDI2DV Converter switches between “decode” and “encode” modes via the “Decode/Encode”
button.
Power
The SDI2DV Converter can be powered 3 ways:
• 6 Pin FireWire (1394 Bus Power from your computer)
• 12V XLR Pack Battery Input
• DC Power Input
DV 1394a I/O
Connect the SDI2DV Converter to your computer via the 6-Pin or 4-Pin 1394/FireWire Connection. The
FireWire ports are bidirectional and support both the import and export of the video/audio. Note that
the 4-Pin port does not supply power to the SDI2DV Converter.
SDI/VITC I/O
For SDI Input:
• Connect the SDI output of your video source (i.e.: a Betacam Deck) to the "SDI IN" port of the
SDI2DV Converter.
For SDI Output:
• Connect the "SDI OUT" port of the SDI2DV Converter to the SDI input of your video device
(i.e.: Betacam Deck, Monitor, et cetera).
If your deck supports VITC (vertical interval time code), connect the VITC output from your deck to
the "VITC IN" on the Dual Link SDI Converter as well as VITC input from your deck to the "VITC OUT" of
the device.
