DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION OF THE UPS
GENERAL INFORMATION
The main aim of the UPS is supplying electric power to appliances connected to its
outlet sockets. The energy is supplied from the battery if the level of the input voltage
or its frequency exceeds the top or bottom threshold values or a lack of mains power
is detected. The time of supplying power from the battery depends on the battery
capacity and the power consumed by appliances that are currently connected to
outlet sockets (load level).
The EASYLINE AVR USB UPS unit is a modern electronic device, an autonomous
source of ~230 V sine voltage in case of emergency. The device is an uninterruptible
line-interactive (VI) class power supply unit that comprises units synchronized with
the mains. The unit's Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) system corrects the
drops and peaks in the mains to ensure the receivers are supplied with voltage with
correct parameters, without using the power stored in the battery.

18
MAINS MODE (NORMAL)
Connecting the UPS to the mains does not mean voltage is present on the UPS's
output sockets. The unit is only started when the switch button on the front panel is
pressed. When the UPS is switched on, a sound signal will be heard and the
message will be displayed on the LCD. If the mains voltage is
incorrect (voltage is too low or too high, frequency is out of range), the UPS will
switch to back-up mode, which will be indicated by the message (BACK-UP
MODE) and a sound signal will be heard every 10 seconds.
When the UPS unit is in the mains mode, the power in the output sockets is filtered
and, if needed, raised or lowered by the AVR system. The LCD panel displays the
load, the battery level, the mains mode icon and the values of the input and output
voltage.
BACK-UP MODE (BATTERY OPERATION)
When the UPS is in the normal (mains) mode and the voltage drops or its parameters
deteriorate (voltage or frequency parameters are out of range), the UPS will
automatically switch to back-up mode. This is signaled by an intermittent sound
signal (every 10 seconds) and an activated icon (MAINS MODE icon will
disappear).
If the battery charge level is low, an alarm sound is generated every second. Once
the battery is discharged, the UPS will switch off and the receivers will not be
supplied with power. When the supply voltage is back, the UPS will restart.
When the UPS is in back-up (battery) mode and there are no receivers connected or
power consumption is below the threshold value (40 W in the model EASYLINE 650
and 50 W model EASYLINE 850), the UPS will automatically switch off in order to
protect the battery before over-discharge them. For UPS, which that contain the first
four digital values 1702 and higher on the serial number after the E3 the UPS will
automatically switch off after 120 minutes. For UPS with values lower than 1702, the
time after which the power supply will shut down automatically is 60 minutes. This
applies to the UPS EASYLINE 650 and 850. This function can not be deactivated.

Type 02
STANDBY MODE
The UPS will switch to STANDBY mode when the battery is completely discharged or
when this mode is initiated by the managing software. The UPS will wait until the
mains parameters are correct again and will then switch back to the mains mode.
COLD START
The cold start function allows to start the UPS when it is disconnected from the
mains. To do this, push the button on the front panel to switch the UPS on. The
battery operation mode is active, signaled by a sound. Next, battery operation of the
UPS is signaled by an intermittent sound, generated every 10 seconds, and by the
active icon.
SAFEGUARDS
Overload protection
In the mains operation mode, at the load over 110% of the nominal power, the UPS
indicates the overload condition by a rapid intermittent sound (every half second) and
a flashing icon . If this condition persists, the UPS will automatically switch off.
The higher the load, the sooner the UPS will switch off. In the back-up mode, an
overload causes the UPS to shut down immediately.
Short-circuit protection
Short-circuit protection on the input side is provided by an automatic mains
protection. For battery operation mode, there is an electronic protection of the UPS
output, the operation of which is signaled by active icon and a continuous
sound signal. If there is a short circuit, voltage from outlet sockets is disconnected
and the UPS remains in the signaling mode. Switch the UPS off with the button on
the front panel. Switching the UPS on again is possible only after user intervention
(elimination of the short circuit and switching the UPS on with the button).
COMMUNICATION WITH PC
EASYLINE AVR USB UPS units are equipped with a USB port enabling
communication of the UPS with a PC. The device is supplied with a USB
communication cable. In order to ensure proper communication of the device with a
PC, the monitoring and control software must be installed first, and then the UPS

must be connected to a free USB port on your PC, with the supplied USB
communication cable. For Windows operating systems, default drivers for HID
(Human Input Device) are installed. Current software and installation procedures can
be downloaded from www.ever.eu.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION! EASYLINE AVR USB UPS units are C2 class appliances. In
domestic environment, they may interfere with reception of radio waves
so the user may be forced to implement additional preventive measures.
CAUTION! There are no user-serviceable parts inside the UPS unit.
INTERACTION WITH ELECTRICAL GENERATORS
The EASYLINE AVR USB UPS units are LINE INTERACTIVE (VI) class units
designed to synchronize voltage with the mains voltage. The unit has been designed
to tolerate voltage fluctuations in the range of ~ 170 - 280 V and changes of the
frequency of ± 5 Hz in relation to rated frequency of 50 Hz. Power generators are
characterized by variable frequency of the output voltage, which depends on the
changes in the load values. If the variations of frequency of the output voltage
exceed the allowed tolerance thresholds (i.e. ± 5 Hz), the UPS will consider the
parameters of the input voltage to be incorrect and it will switch to battery operation
mode.
OPERATION OF THE TELECOMMUNICATION FILTER (in the model 650/850)
In order to protect telephone land lines and the connected devices from surge
effects, EASYLINE 650 / 850 AVR USB UPS units are equipped with surge
protectors. To ensure proper operation of the filter with the protected devices, they
must be connected with a cable with RJ11 or RJ12 plugs. The cable of the existing
telephone land line must be connected to the filter's other socket. As the filter is
symmetrical, the telephone land line may be connected to either of the sockets.
OPERATION OF THE LAN FILTER (in the model 1200)
In order to protect Ethernet UTP lines and the connected devices from surge effects,
EASYLINE 1200 AVR UPS units are equipped with surge protectors. To ensure
/
