PRODUCT SERIES/ MODEL:
PT-19XL and PT-19XLS Torch and 2-Piece Consumable Parts
SERIAL NO:
All
SUMMARY:
To attain the usable life of the 2 pc nozzles, the heat generated during plasma cutting must be
removed from the nozzle tip. The PT-19 torch is designed so the heat is conducted through the
copper tip into the liquid cooled nozzle base. To get efficient heat transfer the tip and base must
be assembled correctly.
OPERATIONAL IMPACT:
Consumable life improvement.
ACTION:
Refer to the Figures of the reverse side.
1 Nozzle tip and nozzle base must be assembled before installation in the torch
2 Firmly tighten the nozzle tip into the nozzle base (100 inch-pounds of torque)
a) Two methods are acceptable:
1)
Two Wrench Method
While holding the nozzle base with one wrench (1 5/16-In.) use a second wrench
(13/16-In.) to secure the tip into the base 100 inch pounds.
Note
100 inch pounds is approximately equal to the force that can be manually
(by hand) applied with a 6 inch long [open end] wrench.
2) One Wrench Method
Securely mount the nozzle base into a stationary fixed holder (such as a vice)
with threads accessible being careful not to crush the base. Thread the tip and
tighten it to approximately 100 inch pounds.
