It is very important to update the Triple Dog Gas using the Update
Agent before downloading to the vehicle. We often are forced to put
updates on the update agent to accommodate new OEM les, so
chances are if you have been into your OEM dealership lately you will
need an update for your Triple Dog Gas.

Introduction
INTRODUCTION
This instruction set covers how to install and operate the Triple Dog Gas Downloader. The Triple Dog Gas
is the premier downloader available for gasoline vehicles available, it oers some of the best engine
tuning and download features in the industry. Before installing the Triple Dog read this entire instruction
manual, read the installation precautions twice, and always remember to update the Triple Dog online
using out Update Agent before installing.

This product is extremely easy to install, installation of this product will take no more than 20 minutes..
All installation takes place inside the cab of the vehicle through the OBDII port. For installation questions
or guidance contact your local dealer or distributor or contact the Bully Dog tech support group Monday-
Friday, 8am-5pm Mountain Standard Time.

PRODUCT FEATURES
one regular (85 octane) tune and one premium (91 octane) tune.
• Calibrate Speedometer (Tire Size): Calibrate OEM speedometer to aftermarket tires and or wheels.
This feature may not exist for all vehicles.
• Calibrate Speedometer (Gear Ratio): Change gear ratio in computer to account for aftermarket
gear ratios.
Choose between stock and rm shift patterns on automatic transmissions.
Choose RPM level at which transmission shifts occur.
• Adjust Speed limiter: This feature allows you to adjust the top speed that a vehicle is able to go, use
this feature to lower a vehicles top speed and achieve better fuel economy.
Menu item that shows exactly how all of the features above are setup.
• Dodge/Chrysler Special Features: Many additional program features available.

Installation Precautions
INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS: VERY IMPORTANT
It is important to take some precautions before downloading, changing settings, or returning to
stock. These precautionary steps to installing the Triple Dog Gas™ will help ensure that down-
loads are successful.
1. Before installation, always update the Triple Dog Gas™ online using our Update Agent. The Triple Dog Gas™ is
an online program that loads the latest vehicle programs from our web site to the Triple Dog Gas.
2. Only install during recommended install time. (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Mountain Standard Time)
3. Do not install while the vehicle is in a remote location or when the vehicle is immediately needed for transpor-
tation. In the unlikely event that installation fails, the installer may need resources such as computer access
and internet access to complete installation.
4. Allow up to one hour for installation. The Triple Dog Gas™ easily installs in under 30 minutes. However, allocate
at least an hour for installation in case any problems are encountered during installation.
5. Before installation, always make sure that the batteries have a full charge. It is even a good idea to have a bat-
tery charger nearby in case the batteries start draining. If the batteries loose their charge during a download,
the download will fail.
6. Before installation, turn o all electronics inside the vehicle including: headlights, heater, air conditioning,
stereo, any DVD players, etc. Failing to turn o all electronics may can prevent a successful download.
7. Before installation always pull all of the recommended fuses seen in the section labeled “Fuse information,”
in this instruction manual.
8. During installation it is very important that the Triple Dog Gas™ is not disrupted. If the download is disrupted
the vehicle may not start and the download process must be restarted. In worst case scenarios the Triple Dog
Gas™ will have to perform a recovery process which adds even more time to the installation process.
The information above is extremely important to successful use of the Triple Dog Gas
IMPORTANT
It is not recommended that this product be used in conjunction with any other electronic module or downloader
that is intended to increase horsepower.
Performance products must always be removed before taking the vehicle in for any kind of service. The Bully Dog
software will be lost if an OEM scan tool is used to reflash the engine computer.

Fuse Information

Before installing a download into the vehicle always pull the fuses mentioned below for the GM
applications mentioned below. Be sure to replace all of the fuses back into the vehicle fuse box once a
download has been completed.

Installation Introduction
OBDll Port Location
All OBDll ports are located under the
dash on the drivers side of the vehicle.
INSTALLATION INTRODUCTION/OBDII PORT
This is a very simple product to install and operate; all operations take place inside the cab of the vehicle
with the Triple Dog Gas™ hooked up to the OBDII port. Operating the Triple Dog Gas™ does not require any
mechanical background. This product does not limit
the amount of times that a download can be entered
and removed from a vehicle, but it will only work on
one vehicle at a time.
The diagram below illustrates the general location
of the OBDII port on any of the vehicles listed in the
vehicle application chart.

Getting Started
GETTING STARTED STARTING THE DOWNLOADER/NAVIGATION
To get started, with any of the Triple Dog Gas functions, follow the steps below:
1. Make sure that your key is in the ignition and in the o position before
you plug the downloader into the vehicle’s OBDII port. The downloader
will later prompt you to turn the key to the on/run position.
2. Connect the OBDII cable that comes with the downloader into the top
of the downloader and then into the OBDII port.
3. The downloader will light up to display the opening screen, and
then it will go to a vehicle selection screen.
While in the vehicle selection screen select
your vehicle make.
4. After you select your vehicle the down-
loader will then display the Main Menu.
This Diagram illustrates how to use the buttons on the front of the downloader to navigate through the
menu systems and screen prompts given on the downloader.

Vehicle Selection
VEHICLE SELECTION SCREEN
The Triple Dog Gas will display the vehicle selection screen the very rst time it is
plugged into a vehicle OBD ll port. When the vehicle selection screen appears simply
select the vehicle make that ts your vehicle application. Once the correct vehicle is
selected the Triple Dog will display the Main Menu. The Main Menu is shown and de-
scribed on the next page.
• If the wrong vehicle is selected follow these steps:
1. After initially selecting the wrong vehicle wait for the downloader to display the Main Menu.
2. Once in the Main Menu select “Change Vehicle.”
3. The downloader will display the vehicle selection menu. Simply highlight the correct vehicle and press
the “Y” button. Then wait for the downloader to load the correct vehicle and it will then display the Main
Menu.

Main Menu
MAIN MENU OPTIONS
The Triple Dog Gas will display the main menu as seen below after going through the
vehicle selection process. The Main Menu will display all of the following options, see
the following pages for a full description of each menu item.
Select this option to navigate to the Vehicle Selection screen and choose a new vehicle type.
INSTALL DOWNLOAD: Select this option to begin the download process. Once the download process has begun
it will take 15-20 minutes to complete, the process will include selecting desired power level and selecting dierent
tuning features.
DTC MENU: Select this option to view and erase diagnostic trouble codes. This option should be used if the vehicle
gauge cluster is displaying a “Check Engine,” light.
SETTINGS: Select this option to enter a submenu with these options:
• Vehicle Options: A Dodge only option that lists ve additional tuning features, see the settings section
in this instruction manual for details.
• View Settings: This feature is available for all vehicles; when selected it will display all current down
loader settings.

Once Selected the Change Vehicle Option will display the Vehicle Selection Screen. This feature should
be used if:
1. The wrong vehicle has been selected
2. If the Triple Dog Gas is being transferred to a new vehicle.

INSTALL DOWNLOAD
To begin the downloading process select the “Install Download” option from the main menu and follow
the screen prompts. The ow chart below shows an example of the download process as an illustration
of each screen seen during the download process. Always follow the installation precautions before
downloading, changing settings, or returning a vehicle to stock. Here are the items covered in this sec-

This diagram illustrates the entire download sequence screen by screen, if these screen shots do not match ex-
actly what is on your screen it is because there are slight variations between vehicles. Simply follow the on screen
instructions on the Triple Dog Gas and continue the download process.

UNIVERSAL TUNING FEATURES
ENGINE TUNING CHOOSE A PERFORMANCE ENGINE TUNE:
The Triple Dog Gas contains two engine tunes, both packed with performance and fuel economy. It is important
to pay attention to the restrictions of each engine tune, do not run the Premium tune unless the vehicle has at
least 91 octane fuel in the fuel tank.
Use the Up and Down arrows to highlight an option, press “Y” to
select.
Premium – Select this option for maximum performance gains (must
run at least 91 rated octane gasoline to use this setting.)
Regular – Select this option for medium performance gains, run any
grade of fuel with this setting.
Stock – Select stock to utilize other Triple Dog Gas features without aecting horsepower.
The OEM speed limiter will limit the vehicle to a top speed that
is determined by the OEM. This features enables changing the
OEM speed limiter to a higher or lower point. By selecting yes to
remove the speed limiter you agree that your vehicle has tires,
suspension, and any other necessary modifications rated for
speeds in excess of 140 mph.
The speed limiter can be adjusted from 50 miles per hour up to
135 mph in increments of 5 mph.

*CALIBRATE OEM SPEEDOMETER FOR TIRE SIZE:
Adding a different sized tire than the stock OEM tire size will
cause the speedometer to read incorrect speeds.The Triple Dog
Downloader can calibrate the OEM speedometer to read correct-
ly for any tire size from 24” up to 45”. Tire size can be adjusted in
increments of .25”.
Note: calibrating above a 35” tire can cause an ABS warning light
to appear on the dash.
Note: Each vehicle application has different limitations to which
the speedometer can be calibrated for tire size. See the table be-
low for general limitations by make:

FORD, LINCOLN VEHICLE SPECIFIC TUNING FEATURES
TRANSMISSION TUNING AUTOMATIC ONLY:
Two different options exist for transmission tuning, choose to accept
a Bully Dog Custom transmission tune or to leave transmission tun-
ing stock.
Firm Tune - This tune will aect shift rmness and shift points. It is
an optimized tune designed for performance.
Stock Tune - Choose this option to utilize the factory shift patterns.
TRANSMISSION SHIFT POINTS AUTOMATIC ONLY:
This feature allows you to raise or lower the point that the vehicle
shifts from first to second gear, second to third gear, and third to
fourth gear based on engine rpms. Adjust shift points from 4400
up to 5800 before each gear change in increments of 100 RPMs. To
choose recommended shift points press “N.”

GM: CHEVY, GMC, CADILLAC VEHICLE SPECIFIC TUNING FEATURES
To begin the downloading process, select the “Install Download” option from the main menu and fol-
low the screen prompts.
This feature will turn up the pressure in the transmission so that shifts feel solid. It also helps reduce transmis-
sion slippage under heavy stress.
Performance: Pressure is greater than tow and stock. This setting
is recommended to be used in combination with, but is certainly not
limited to the High Performance Horsepower program.
Tow: Shifts are rmer than stock and less rm than High Perfor-
mance. (This setting not available on ‘07-’08 models).
Stock: Does not change or modify transmission settings.
This feature will adjust the point in the RPM range in which the transmission upshifts or downshifts.
Performance: Shifts at a higher RPM than Stock and Tow. This setting
is recommended to be used in combination with, but is certainly not
limited to the High Performance Horsepower Program.
Tow: Shifts at a higher RPM than Stock and shifts at a lower RPM than
High Performance.
Stock: Does not modify shift points
Performance - This is a pre-established shift point tune. It is a tune that is setup for the average user, and
offers an enhanced shift pattern.
Custom - Choosing the custom tune setting allows the user to setup custom shift points. Setting up custom
shift points requires 3 steps:
1. Choose Rev Limiter.
2. Choose shift point from 1st to 2nd gear.
3. Choose shift point from 2nd to 3rd gear.
