Since it is very usual for DVD movies to be released at different times in different regions of the world, all players have region

codes and disks can have an optional region code. If you load a disk of a different region code to your player, you will see the

region code node notice on the screen. The disk will not play, and should be unloaded.

This set has been designed and manufactured to assure your personal safety. Improper use can

result in Electric shock or Fire hazard. The safeguards in this appliance will protect you if you

observe the correct procedures for installation, servicing and operation. There are NO user parts

Power Supply.

This apparatus is designed to operate from a 100

– 250V AC 50 Hz supply. Do NOT connect to an

alternative supply.

Ventilation.

Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for

ventilation to ensure the correct operation of the

appliance.

Do NOT block any slots or restrict any Fan

opening.

Do NOT place on fabric or soft furnishings, this will

restrict airflow.

Do not place in a cabinet without sufficient

clearance. If placing in a cabinet this apparatus

should be at the bottom of the appliance “Stack”

Heat.

Do not place on or near appliances that radiate

heat such as radiators or in direct sunlight

Power cord protection.

Do not place wires where they may be tripped

over or stepped on. Do not pull the cord when

removing the mains plug, grip the plug body firmly.

Lightning.

During a thunderstorm or when leaving the

appliance for long periods such as holidays,

disconnect the aerial input (if external aerial) and

remove the mains plug, This is to prevent power

surges damaging the apparatus.

Disc Tray.

Keep your fingers well clear of the DVD disc

drawer when it is closing, it may cause injury and

damage to the player. Do NOT push the disc

drawer to close, use the Open / Close button on

the appliance.

Do NOT allow children to operate this apparatus

without supervision.

Object or Liquid entry

No not allow objects to be pushed into the ventilation

slots, they may touch live parts and cause an

electric shock. Do not spill any liquids into the

appliance.

If either should happen, disconnect from the mains

supply and contact a service engineer. DO NOT

attempt to repair yourself.

Damage Requiring Service.

Should any of the following happen, disconnect from

the mains supply and call an engineer or Technical

Help Centre. :- 01422 263313

Damage of the mains cord or plug.

Liquid or other objects enter the casing.

The apparatus has been exposed to rain or

moisture.

If the appliance does not operate in accordance with

the normal operation expected.

If the appliance has been dropped or the case

damaged.

Location.

Do not place on an unstable surface loose shelves

or other similar place. Dropping this apparatus will

severely harm its functions.

Do not place where ventilation is restricted, a good

airflow is necessary to maintain trouble free

operation.

Water and Moisture.

Do not use this appliance near water, or in damp

locations such as basements.

Do not place vases or other such containers on top

of the appliance

Cleaning.

When cleaning is required. Unplug the appliance

from the mains supply. Use a soft dry cloth. For

stubborn sticky stains use a damp cloth with a mild

detergent. Do not use chemical cleaners

The following will help you get the most enjoyment from your DVD recorder

BEST LOCATION

If placed in a cabinet, be sure there is at least 1 inch “25mm” of free space completely around

the unit for proper ventilation.

TO OBTAIN A CLEAR PICTURE

A DVD recorder is a precision device. If the optical pick-up lens and disc drive parts

become dirty or worn down, picture quality will become poor. Laser cleaning discs are

available from all leading DVD stores. Store DVD player in a clean dust free

environment.

PLAYABLE DISCS

This DVD recorder will play the following types of discs : DVD,DVD+/-R,DVD+/-RW, MP3, CD,

CD-R and CD-RW with super-error correction ability. It is also capable of displaying picture

CD’s and digital photo albums. It supports four languages, up to 32 subtitles, and multi-angle

viewing. It features easy setup and operation with on-screen menus.

DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT

The unit's coaxial output capability enables you to connect an external six-channel AV

amplifier and processor with built-in Dolby Digital encoder with just one cord. This enables you

to conveniently enjoy different DVD, CD, and Mp3 discs.

ANALOG AUDIO OUTPUT

LASER-HEAD OVER-CURRENT PROTECTION SYSTEM

To extend the service life of the laser head, the unit includes a unique laser-head over-current

protection system, ensuring a constant laser current.

This model combines the function of a DVD player, Tv

receiver and recorder. As a DVD player, you will be able to

enjoy full length movies with cinema picture quality,

and stereo or multichannel sound (depending on the disc

and your playback system). Unique features of this player

include Scart & S-video outputs for greater picture clarity.

What’s more, as a DVD Video Recorder, it has some of the

key features that allow you to record programs conveniently

such as:

1. Push downward and outward the leaf spring

to remove the battery compartment cover.

2. Insert two AAA batteries according to the

"+" and "-" markings.

3. Make sure the batteries have been properly

installed, then close the battery compartment

cover.

Notes:

Do not mix different types together, o r o ld

batteries with new batteries.

If the remote control is not to be used for

an extended period of time, remove the

batteries to prevent possible corrosion.

To prevent corrosion resulting in damage,

remove exhausted batteries immediately.

Where the remote control doesn't appear to

operate normally, replace both of the batteries.

Typical life for the batteries provided with this

product is about 6-12 months. The life

expectancy will vary according to use.

Point the remote control toward the remote

sensor on your DVD recorder.

The description in this Manual is based on the

buttons on the equipment. You may use the

counterparts on the remote control to do the

same.

Notes:

Do not place this equipment in a place exposed

to direct sunlight or fluorescent lighting, this may

interfere with the correct operation of the remote

control.

When another similar remote control is used in

the same room, or when this product is used

near other equipment using infrared, inter-

ference with the operation of this remote control

may occur.

If the recorder is placed in a cabinet with

darkened glass, this may reduce the effective

range of the remote control.

Battery Disposal.

When batteries are exhausted, do not break

open or throw on a fire or place in the domestic

waste bin. Contact your local waste authority for

disposal instructions.

SELECTING SOUND SOURCE

SELECTING A SOURCE

Press any function button (SOURCE, DVD,

TV,DV,USB) to select the desired source.

The appropriate symbol will appear in the

display.

Note: The desired program source will not play

unless it and the selected signal source are

turned on.

1. Power on your recorder

2. Insert a DVD disc, Label side UP

3. Press direction keys or the number buttons to select

the title

All playback operations can be selected by navigation. During playback, press the DISPLAY

button twice or the NAVIGATION button once to access the control MENU:

1. The name of the pre-recorded disc. The default is TITLE.

2. The date and time of the recording.

3. Time of the recorded title

4. The quality

5. The time length of the recording

Note

The above features vary depending upon the disc type such as

“Digital Audio”, Audio CD etc

2. Press the c/d/e/f buttons to select the title you want.

Note.

• The function is invalid on “Digital Audio” discs

• For CD Discs, GOTO is used for track/time selection

Note

There are two repeat modes for CD/”Digital Audio” discs. On CD discs, they are track repeat

and disc repeat, on “Digital Audio” discs, they are repeat song and repeat directory.

On “Digital Audio” discs the “AUDIO” button is used for selection of Left/Right and stereo
