Quick Start Guide.
Dear Customer. Thank you for purchasing this state of
the art DVD Recorder. Please read the Main Instruction
book for all safety and operational information.
Unpacking. Open the carton carefully and remove the
DVD recorder. If the recorder has been kept in a cold
place, please allow one hour for the recorder to acclimatise
to the room temperature. Keep the packaging until you are
sure the DVD recorder is operation satisfactorily.
Placing the Recorder
. Place the recorder on a firm stable
surface. Do not place on fabric or anything that will impede
the ventilation of the recorder.
Basic Connections to your recorder.
This DVD recorder is designed to operate on a standard
UK mains supply 230-240V AC 50Hz, do NOT connect to a
different source. Do not connect the
supply until all other connections have
been made
If you are recording from a RF source
(aerial or cable), connect the aerial lead
as shown to Aerial Input.
To connect to your Tv “Basic Option”.
Connect your Tv scart lead to the
upper scart socket firmly. If your Tv
does not have a scart socket, please
refer to the main instruction book.
Remote Control.
Open the battery compartment
and place the batteries inside
observing the battery polarities.
Close the battery compartment.
First Time Operation.
fter making the connections above.
Connect to the mains supply and
switch on. Press the Power ON button.
The display will show “Hello” for appro-
ximately 10 seconds. The recorder will
now display “No Disc” and the Tv
should display a Blue “Splash Screen”
also stating no disc. If your Tv does not display the
“Splash Screen” Select the correct scart input on your Tv.
DVD Controls
DVD Operation. Please note the Remote Control
buttons duplicate the buttons on the DVD recorder.
Press the Open Close (11) button to open the DVD disc
tray. Do not restrict the area in front of the disc tray.
Place a DVD disc into the tray and press the Open Close
button. Do not force or press the DVD disc tray. Keep
small children and pets away from the DVD disc tray.
The DVD disc will now be scanned and it will either
“Auto Start” or display a menu, from which your selection
should be made.
DVD Recorder Setup (Tuning). “Remote control only”
Ensure either an Aerial or Cable connection is made.
Select TV.
Select Scan.
Use the b button to select
SCAN and press ENTER
The recorder will now search
For Tv signals in your area.
When search is completed
The recorder will display
How many stations have
been found and display
the first one. The stations
are stored in “Found Order”
and will need to be sorted
into the correct order. See
page 25.
Recording to disc. (Instant/ OTR)
Place a blank, or disc with space into the disc tray.
TV. Select the program you wish to record.
Press REC/OTR and the disc will start to enable then
record. A further press of the REC/OTR button will add
30 minutes to the recording time.
SCART/AV/DV/CVBS/S-VIDEO. Ensure the source is
turned on and connected. Press the REC/OTR button.
To STOP recording press the STOP button. The
recorder will not immediately stop, but display a
message, warning you it is stopping the recording
process.
