EnsureMoLabhassufficientbatterypowerorconnectto
itspowersupply.
ConnectthedesiredMLsensor(s)tothesensorinput(s)onMoLab.
CreateanewCoachResult: OropenanexistingCoachActivity/Result:
- Tap the Menu iconand select
New,or
New(Soundonly)‐whenyouwant
tousetheinternalmicrophone, or
New (Photogate Timing) ‐ when
you want to use CMA Photogate
ML54 for time interval
measurements.
- AnewResultopens.
MoLab automatically detects the
connected sensor(s) and lists
detected sensors, their diagrams
andtablesintheActivityScreen.
- Select the desired Activity/Result from
thedropdownlistortaptheMenuicon
,selectOpen andbrowsetoselectthe
desiredActivity/Result.
- TheActivity/Resultopens.
MoLab automatically detects the
connected sensor(s). If the detected
sensor is
different then the sensor
defined in the activity then the sensor
listed in the activity tree is red. Connect
the defined sensor or change it into the
detectedsensorbytappingtheExchange
button.
TaptheSensorsScreenicontodisplaytheSensorsScreenandcheckthelive
readingsof
thesensors.
Youarereadytostartameasurement.Themeasurementisexecutedaccordingto
thegivenmeasurementsettings.Tap tocheckorchangethesesettings.
TapthegreenStarticonorpresstheMoLab<Start/Stop>buttontostartdata
collection.
o Inmostcases,Coachdirectlystarts
themeasurement.
o Iftriggeringisenabledthenthemeasurementisstartedautomaticallywhenthe
triggerconditionsaremet.
o WhenthetypeofmeasurementissettoManualthentheManualStarticon
appearsinthebottombar.Tapthisicontocollectasinglemeasurement.Whena
keyboardinput
isspecifiedthenthevalueofoneormorequantit ieshavetobe
typedin.
Themeasurementstopswhenthespecifiedmeasurementtime(timebased)or
specifiednumberofsamples(manual)hasbeenreached.Ifyouwanttointerrupt
themeasurementsprocess,taporpresstheMoLab<Start/Stop>button
again.
SaveyourResultfileviatheActivityScreenmenuoptionSaveorSaveAs.
Warning:
Notice that when starting a new data collection run, by tapping the green Start button or
pressing the MoLab <Start/Stop>button, existing dataisoverwrittenby the newdatawithout
anywarning.Toavoidlosinganydatasaveyourexperimentresultsfirst.


Step1:InstalltheMoLabdriver
ForWindowsXP:priortoconnectingMoLabtoyourWindowsXPcomputerdownload
theMoLabXPdriverfromtheCMAwebsite(http://cmascience.nl/english/support/
interfaces.html)andinstallitmanually.
ForWindowsVistaand7:turnMoLabonandconnectittothecomputer
viatheUSB
cable.WhenthishappensthefirsttimeWindowsautomaticallyinstallstheMoLabdriver.
Step2:InstallWindowsCEServicessoftware
ForWindowsXP:do wnloadandinstallWindowsActiveSync.
ForWindowsVistaand7:afterMoLabdriversoftwareinstallationissuccessfully
finished,WindowsautomaticallydownloadsandstartsinstallationofWindowsMobile
DeviceCenter.
TheseprogramswilltakecareofcommunicationbetweenMoLab
andyourPCcomputer.
Step3:UseyourMoLabwithcomputerto:
transferfilesbetweenMoLabandthecomputerinWindowsExplorer,
displaytheimageoftheMoLabscreenonthecomputerscreeninMoLa bView,
collectdatawiththeCoach6or Coach6LiteprogramrunningonthePC.
