Overview
The cobas
®
infinity live view module displays each set
of information in a configurable panel called a widget.
The required widgets are integrated in a configurable
display called a dashboard.

You can choose the widgets which are most appropriate
to your requirements. The available widgets depend on
the system providing the data.

You can create customized dashboards for specific users.
Laboratory technician Can immediately see if any special tasks are required,
such as investigating a workflow bottleneck, or calling a
ward about a critical result.

Laboratory supervisor Can get a real-time overview of the laboratory to be able
to act in a timely manner upon specific notifications, such
as overdue samples, or bottlenecks in the turnaround
time.
Laboratory manager Can check a summary dashboard on a mobile device to
get an overview of laboratory operations while taking care
of different tasks elsewhere.
System requirements
The cobas
®
infinity live view module consists of a
service running on a web server on Microsoft Windows
Server 2008. Clients consist of browsers running on
Microsoft Windows 7 or on mobile platforms.
On the client side, the module supports these systems
and applications.
On desktops, Microsoft Windows 7 SP1, with the
following browsers:
Internet Explorer 9
Internet Explorer 10
Firefox 24.1.0, ESR
Google Chrome 30 (recommended)
On mobile systems:
Google Chrome 30 (Android systems)
Safari Mobile (iPhone and iPad)

The module comprises a home screen that displays the
different dashboards configured for that specific
installation. Each dashboard contains the required
widgets.

Starting the module
To start using the module, navigate to the URL configured
for your site.
r To start the module

Get the module URL from your laboratory manager,
systems administrator, or Roche Service
representative.

Open a compatible browser, and navigate to the home
screen.
I The page for the home screen is “main.php”. For
example:
http://10.10.100.10:8080/main.php

Log on to the module.

If the home screen is empty or you require other
information to be displayed, create a dashboard and
edit it to show what you need.

Logging on to the module
To use the module, log on with your corresponding user
ID; otherwise you can only view information as guest.
The module’s user ID is independent from the
application’s users.
j A user ID and, in most cases, a password.

In the dialog box, fill in the following fields:
User ID (not case-sensitive)
Password (if your user ID requires a password)
I The first time that you log on with a new user ID,
the system may require a password change.

Choose the Log on button.
f The user icon becomes green.

It is recommended to log off the module once you finish
using it.

Changing the password
Most users require a password to log on. You normally
have to change the password when you log on with a
new user ID for the first time. It is also recommended to
change the password periodically.
CAUTION
Disclosure of sensitive data due to unauthorized
system access
To avoid unauthorized access and misuse of the system,
the following recommendations are essential:
r Do not use the same password as in other systems.
r Use a secure password.
r To change the password

want to change the password.
