INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT

Before proceeding, make sure to remove and relocate the factory jack assembly located in the rear storage

compartment to ensure ease of access during an emergency situation. A relocation bracket is available via

There is an alternate Cargo Surround mounting kit available for extreme durability which adds an additional 6

mounting points on the 4 door Jeep JK model. Visit on www.blackforestgear.com

Step Image Description

Using the supplied 6 - M6 x 12mm screws, install side

panels to front wall panel as shown.

Using the supplied 7- M6 x 12mm screws, install cargo

surround lid.

If you will not use the pass-through for larger cargo,

install the pass-through plate as shown using the M6 x

12mm thumb screws.

TIP

For ease of installation, start with the two driver side

thumb screws; insert plate into location and continue

threading the remaining screws into place.

Install rubber pass-through grommet and rubber plug.

NOTE

The installation of pass-through grommet location is

necessary if also installing a Fridge / Freezer system.

See Optional Accessories Section for more

information.

Depending on the year of your vehicle, the lower hole

may be used for better alignment of the harness

when connecting to an auxiliary power port.

Insert rubber plugs into unused harness pass-through

holes on driver’s side cargo surround wall.

IMPORTANT

If the base plate, slide, and Fridge / Freezer assembly

were previously installed, the Fridge / Freezer and slide

assemblies must be temporarily removed for the

installation of the cargo surround. It is also necessary

to loosen the four base plate mounting bolts.

If also installing in a Jeep equipped with a passenger

side mounted subwoofer; the 12V Frig / Freezer

power cord must be plugged into the AUX port

before installing the cargo surround assembly.

Set cargo surround into place by aligning the

mounting holes to the base plate assembly. Hand

tighten mounting hardware at this time.

Do not install cargo surround mounting

hardware to the baseplate if reinstalling slide

assemblies. Refer to Optional Accessories Section

/ Slide Assembly Step 1.

Install the supplied protective rubber caps over the

close out wing tabs as shown before installation steps 9

& 10.

NOTE

The adjacient picture represents the location of each

rubber cap after installation.

Install passenger side cargo surround wings starting

with the rearmost section first.

NOTE

This note refers to a 2 Door installation ONLY. As the

rear seat must be removed for a 2 door installation,

there are two possibilities for rear seatbelt positioing.

Refer to step 11 for examples of each.

With the cargo surround mounted hand tight, check

for even gap around sport bars and the cargo wings.

Reposition as necessary and torque the 11 mounitng

bolts to 6 ft. lbs.

Install the passenger close out panel with supplied

hardware.

Torque the 4 O.E. hardware tie down bolts to 6 ft. lbs.

Cargo Surround Complete.

If also installaing the optional Fridge / Freezer system

skip this step.

Step Image Description

Slide Assembly Installation

Prior to setting the slide assemblies into place, set the

supplied washer shims over the inner most slide assembly

mounting holes. This is to ensure a level mounting surface

for the slide assemblies when installed with the cargo

surround.

Using the supplied M6 x 12mm Hex bolts (8 per slide);

tighten the slide assembly to the baseplate as shown.

Torque to 6 ft. lbs.

To access slide assembly retainer holes, open slide

assembly by turning the release handle in an upward

motion while pulling back.

NOTE

Repeat this step if installing a second slide assembly.

8 - M6 x 12mm Hex bolts (4 per side)

Fridge / Freezer Installation

When installing the 12V Fridge / Freezer wiring harness,

route the harness through the rear handle first. This will

ensure the harness doesn’t interfere with the slide

assembly tracks during slide use.

Step Image Description

Route harness through the previously installed grommet

determined to be the best pass-through location for your

year vehicle.

Route harness through supplied P-clip as shown and

mount using a M6 – 12mm screw.

Set the Fridge / Freezer on the slide assembly as shown.

Use the 4 supplied tie downs and secure Fridge / Freezer

to the slide assembly.

IMPORTANT

After ties downs have been properly secured, make sure

to trim excess tie down strap material to prevent jamming

of the slide lock mechanism. Carefully heat cut ends of

straps to prevent fraying.

Make the connection to the auxiliary port as shown.

Install passenger close out panel with supplied

hardware.

NOTE

If the cargo surround has been installed in a Jeep

equipped with a passenger side mounted subwoofer;

the close out panel is not used.

LIMITED NON-TRANSFERABLE WARRANTY

Webasto Thermo & Comfort North America, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as Webasto) warrants their Cargo Storage

and Security Surround for Jeep Wrangler against defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from date of

purchase.

Replacement parts are covered for six (6) months or the remainder of the original warranty period, whichever is

longer.

The intent of the Webasto warranty is to protect the original end-user of the Cargo Storage and Security Surround

for Jeep Wrangler from defects and provide free repair and replacement of defective parts in the manner provided

herein. During the warranty period, the exclusive remedy will be for Webasto, at their discretion, to repair or replace

those parts which are demonstrated to be defective in material or workmanship.

Limitations: Webasto specifically excludes and limits warranty from the following:

- Damage to product in transit. All claims must be filed with carrier.

- Improper installation, which is not in accordance with valid, supplied installation instructions.

reasonable and necessary maintenance.

- Modification of product by alteration, use of non-genuine parts or repair by unauthorized personnel.

- Economic loss for expenses related to travel, vehicle disability, personal injury or other incidental or

consequential damages arising from any breach of this expressed warranty.

THIS WARRANTY IS NON-TRANSFERABLE. IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING THAT OF MERCHANTABILITY

AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS

WARRANTY. WEBASTO DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL

DAMAGES.

SOME STATES AND CANADIAN PROVINCES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF

INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT

APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER

RIGHTS WHICH VARY AMONG STATES AND CANADIAN PROVINCES.

WEBASTO RETAINS THE RIGHT TO MODIFY THESE WARRANTY TERMS WITHOUT NOTICE IN ORDER TO

COMPLY WITH POLICY OR LAWS GOVERNING WARRANTY ISSUES IN STATES OR COUNTRIES HAVING

SPECIFIC REMEDIES DIFFERING OR ADDITIONAL TO THOSE DESCRIBED WITHIN THIS DOCUMENT.
