1.3.1 Product package

Connecting the earth wire
The WiFi access point is equipped with a ground connection cable. In order to prevent over-voltages
or electrostatic discharges, it is important to ground the WiFi access point, cables and power supply
correctly during normal operation.
1. Remove the screw from the grounding connection point at the bottom of the WiFi access point.
2. Place the grounding cable and fasten the cable to secure it.
3. Slide the lid and press the locking button downward to seal the bottom section.

Installation of external antennas
The WiFi access point has two SMA connectors on its top to connect external antennas.
1. Connect the external antennas that come with the package to the SMA connectors on top side
of the WiFi access point. For improved coverage, it is recommended to use greater range
antennas.
The WiFi access point must be turned off before connecting the external antennas. The device
should not be turned on without having the external antennas connected; otherwise it could cause
damage to the unit.

2. Place the antennas at 90º or 45º.
3. One antenna can be inclined at 45º to the left and the other antenna 45º to the right. Positioning
the antennas in this manner is ideal, since there is less coupling between them.

The polarization of the antennas must be aligned correctly. The maximum signal strength between
both bridges is achieved when they use the same polarization.

4. Tighten the fastener of the connector in a clockwise direction to attach the antennas.
5. To adjust the antennas, first loosen the connector in a counterclockwise direction and then adjust
the antenna into the desired position. Do not bend or turn the antennas without first loosening
the connector fastener. Otherwise the antennas could become damaged.
6. The installation of the antennas is now complete.

Mounting a WiFi access point to a post
1. Unlock the post mounting ring using a screwdriver. Flip the WiFi access point. Place the
mounting ring through the center hole in the WiFi access point.
2. Securely attach the WiFi access point to the post using the mounting ring.

Ferrite core connection
1. Open the ferrite core by lifting the latches.
2. Place the ferrite core around the Ethernet cable at a distance of 2 to 3 inches from the connector
(between 5.08 and 7.65 centimeters). Tests may be required for the final location depending on
its effectiveness in reducing high frequencies.
3. Loop the cable inside the ferrite core. This allows to the core to be fastened in place.

4. Close the ferrite core by closing the latches.
5. Connect the Ethernet cable with the attached ferrite core to the "Data in" port of the power supply.

Connecting the WiFi access point to a switch or PC
Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to a switch or PC. The hardware installation is complete.

Connect the power plug into a power outlet. The WiFi access point will turn on immediately.
