A. Fire Safety

B. Combustible/Non-Combustible Materials
• Combustible Material
Material made of or surfaced with wood, compressed
paper, plant bers, plastics, or any material capable
of igniting and burning, whether ame-proofed or not,
plasteredorunplastered.
• Non-combustible Material
Materialwhichwillnotigniteandburn.Suchmaterialsare
thoseconsistingentirelyofsteel,iron,brick,tile,slate,
glassorplasters,oranycombinationthereof.
• Non-combustible Sealant Material
Sealantswhichwillnotigniteandburn:CRCManiseal
Exhaust Cement, High Temperature Silicone (TRV)
Sealant(orequivalent).
Clinkers
Mineralsandothernon-combustiblematerialssuchassand
willturnintoahard,glass-likesubstancecalledaclinkerwhen
heatedintherepot.
Treesfromdifferentareaswillvaryinmineralcontent.That
iswhysomefuelsproducemoreclinkersthanothers.
Moisture
Alwaysburndryfuel.Burningfuelwithhighmoisturecontent
takes heat from the fuel and tends to cool the appliance,
robbingheatfromyourhome.Damppelletfuelcanclogthe
feedsystem.
Size

Pelletsareeither6or8mmindiameter

• Pellet lengths can vary from lot to lot from the same
manufacturer
• Duetolengthvariations,theameheight(feedrate)may

C. Fuel Material and Fuel Storage
Pellet fuel quality can greatly uctuate. We recommend
thatyou buy fuel complying withthe wood pellet standard
AS/NZS 4014.6:2008 However, we do recommend trying
various brands before purchasing multi-ton lots to ensure
yoursatisfaction.

requirements or in an area that would hinder routine
cleaningandmaintenance.
D. General Operating Information
1. Turning On/Off
Therehastwoswitchesonthebackofthereone
toturnthereonandoffthesecondistheheatoutput
control(see“Figure9.1”onpage9).Toturnthere
onpresstheON/OFFswitchtotheonpositiontherewill
thengothroughitsstart-upsequence.
Theresalsohavetheoptionofaroomthermostat,when
thethermostatcallsforheat,therewillautomatically
lightanddeliverheat.
Whentheroomisuptotemperatureandthethermostatis
satised,theappliancewillshutdown(notrecommended
forolderdraftyhouses)
