GENERAL INFORMATION
FACE TEMPLATE KITS
Step 1. The template kit is provided in four (4) pieces and must be
assembled first. Refer to
Figure 1
and assemble the components with
six of the nuts and bolts provided.
Step 2. Determine the orientation required for the type of finished face
that will be applied. When using the arched top steel front or the cast
iron faces, the template will be installed with the arch on top. The
template can be attached upside down to provide a guide when
installing the rectangular kits.
Step 3. Refer to
Figure 2
and assemble the remaining four bolts and nuts
into the appropriate holes. Leave them loose . It may be more effective
to place the wing nuts on the back side.
Note: When applying the template for the rectangular kits, the bolts
securing the arched portion of the template will act as both a secure
point to the unit, as well as the attachment for the arch.
Step 4. Hook these fasteners onto the side channels, square up the
template and secure all of the bolts firmly (

FACING THE FIREPLACE
With the template in place; brick, tile, marble, etc. may make direct
contact with the template while curing.
Note: The template is intended as a guide and is not intended to
support the full weight of the facing materials themselves.
These Face Template Kits are designed to be used with Spectra LSS series
gas fireplaces. These templates will provide a barrier to prevent facing
materials from interfering with the installation of both cast iron and steel
face kits for these fireplaces.

After the facing materials are finished and set, the template may be
removed. The template can be removed as a whole, or removed piece
by piece. Take care not to damage or bend the components, because
they may be used over again many times.
