FURNACE APPLICATION 1: Instrucons for 78% AFUE
Upow / Downow
Models: P (1,2) UC, P (A,B) MU, P (1,2) CC, P (A,B) MD
1. Turnoallgasandelectricsupply
totheequipmentbeingserviced.
2. Removetheburnercompartment
accessdoor.
3. Disconnectthewiringfromthehot
surfaceignitorattheplug
connecon.
4. Locatetheburnercoverbehind
thegasvalve.
5. Carefullyremovetheoldbraketandignitorsavingthescrewfor
reassembly.
6. Aachthenewignitortothenewbracket(10-568)withthehex
headscrewprovided(30-123).
7. Carefullyinstallthenewbracketandignitor.
8. Securethenewignitorbrackettotheburnercoverwiththesaved
screwfromthedisassemblyoftheoriginalbracket.
9. Themetalshieldoftheignitorshouldtouchtheburnercarryover
tube.
10.Reconnecttheignitor.
11. Restorethegasandelectricsupplytotheunit.
12. Setroomthermostatforheatand
cyclethesystem.
13. Replaceburnercompartment
accessdoor.
INSTALLATION DATA
41-605 Mini ignitor Conversion Kit
CAUTION: This kit should be installed only by qualied
personnel. Improper installaon can present a hazard.
Thiskitcanbeusedtoconvertfurnacesfromtheoriginal
White-Rodgers,NortonorCarborundumspiralignitorstothe
Robertshaw®Minilgnitor.Donotusetoreplacethecurrent
produconmodelsthatusetheLowTempNortonignitor
(025-32626-000).
Findtheproperapplicaon(1,2,3,4or5)onthisinstruconsheet
thatcorrespondstothemodeloffurnacetobeconverted.Referto
thelineartineachseconalongwithTable1fortheappropriate
mounngbracketandotherpartsrequiredfortheconversion.Select
onlythosepartsanddiscardtherest.
CAUTION: Hot surface ignitors get hot! Up to 2500°F.
Therefore wait several minutes allowing the ignitor
to cool down, before aempng any service work.
Failure to do so will cause severe personal injury.

1. Turnoallgasandelectricsupplytotheequipmentbeingserviced.
2. Removetheburnercompartmentaccessdoor.
3. Removetheburnerboxcoverandsavethescrewsforre-assembly.
4. Disconnectthewiringfromthehotsurfaceignitorattheplug
connecon.
5. Carefullyremovetheoldbracketandignitorsavingthescrewfor
reassembly.
6. Aachthenewignitortothenewbracket(10-569)withthehex
headscrewprovided(30-123).
7. Carefullyinstallthenewbracketandignitor.
8. Themetalshieldoftheignitorshouldtouchtheribbonporonof
theburner.
9. Reconnecttheignitor.
10.Replacetheburnerboxcover.
11.Restorethegasandelectricalsupplytotheunit.
12.Setroomthermostatforheatandcyclethesystem.
13.Replaceburnercompartmentaccessdoor.

headscrewprovided(30-123).
8. Carefullyinstallthenewbracketandignitorusingthescrewssaved
fromtheoldbracketremoval.
9.Theclearancebetweenthemetalshieldoftheignitorandthe
carryovertubeshouldbebetween0”and1/8”.
10.Reconnecttheignitor.
11. Replacetheburnerboxcover.
12. Restorethegasandelectricalsupplytotheunit.
13. Setroomthermostatforheatandcyclethesystem.
14. Replaceburnercompartmentaccessdoor.

1. Turnoallgasandelectricsupply
totheequipmentbeingserviced.
2. Removetheburnercompartment
accessdoor.
3. Removeburnerboxcoverandsavethescrewsforre-assembly.
4. Disconnectthewiringfromthehotsurfaceignitorattheplug
connecon.
5. Carefullyremovetheoldbracketandignitorsavingthescrew
forre-assembly.
6. Ifbothholesarenotpresentonthefurnacepaneltoaccept
thenewbracket,levelthenewmounngbrackethorizontallyand
drilla7/64”hole.
7. Aachthenewignitortothenewbracket(10-570)withthehex
headscrewprovided(30-123).
8. Carefullyinstallthenewbracketandignitorusingthescrewsfrom
theoldbracket.
9. Theclearancebetweenthemetalshieldoftheignitorandthe
carryovertubeshouldbebetween0”and1/8”.
10.Reconnecttheignitor.
11. Reinstalltheburnerboxcover.
12. Restorethegasandelectricalsupplytotheunit.
13. Setroomthermostatforheatandcyclethesystem.
14. Replaceburnercompartmentaccessdoor.

connecon.
5. Carefullyremovetheoldbracketandignitorsavingthescrewsand
gasketforre-assembly.
6. Carefullyinstallthenewbracket(10-566)andignitorontheburner
boxwiththesavedscrewsmakingsurethatthegasketisbetween
theburnerboxandthenewignitorbracket.
7. Theclearancebetweenthemetalshieldoftheignitorandthe
burnershouldbebetween0”and1/8”.
8. Reconnecttheignitor.
9. Reinstalltheburnerboxcover.
10. Restorethegasandelectricalsupplytotheunit.
11.Setroomthermostatforheatandcyclethesystem.
12.Replaceburnercompartmentaccessdoor.
