Wheretheamplifierisusedinafixedinstallation,aslongasthebottomunitissupportedandtherearenogapsbetweenunits,
itisacceptabletouseonlythefrontpanel19”rackholeswhenfittin
gitinastandardrackenclosure.Iftheamplifierismounted
inamobilerackitisimportantthattherearissupportedwitharearrackmountingkit(partnumberIKRACK).Damagecaused
byinsufficientsupportisnotcoveredbythewarranty.
Topreventdamagetoth

provided by one Input DSP Block, and a number of Output DSP Blocks, which are associated with oneanother by means of
routin
g.Forexample,ifInputDSPBlockBisroutedtoOutputs3and4,thenthisisa2wayDriveModulewithInputDSPBlockB
forming the ‘Master’ control, and Output DSP Blocks 3 and 4 providing th
e driverrelated control. Overall, this forms the
processingtypicallyforoneloudspeakersubsystem.TheVuNetDriveModulecontrolpanelforthissubsystemmaythenbe
usedforcontrolandmonitoringoftheassociatedspeaker.
DriveModulesmaybeincludedinModuleGroups,whichusetheParameterOverlayfeatu
reintheDevicetoachievetrouble
freeGroupingintheVuNetapplication.
ThePresetsintheDeviceareDriveModulecentric,andareusedtoconfigureindividualDriveModulesratherthanthewhole
device.
Importantly,DriveModulesmovethefocusawayfromtheprocessingdevice,andontotheloudspeakersystems.

WhentheDeviceisusedinModulesviewinVuNet,thisallowsthemodulestobegroupedintoOverlayGroups.Thesegroups
allowvariousInput(master)parameterstobeadjustedinallmodulesinthatgroup,whistmaintainingindependentparameter
valuesacrosseachgroup.Thisisachievedinthedevicebyco
mbiningtheparametersforallthelayersforagivensection(Gain
Delay,EQetc.).WhenanOverlayparameterisactive,theOverlayindicatorwillbecomeilluminated.ThecombinedGainorDelay

LIRLinearPhaseCrossoverFilteringTheDevicealsoincludesanewtypeofcrossoverfiltering“LinearImpulseResponse”(LIR)
crossoverfiltering,whichresultsinaLinearPhasecrossoverthathasaconstantdelayregardlessoffrequency(unlikeothertypes
ofcrossoverwhichdelaydifferentfrequenciestoadifferentex
tent,thussmearingthearrivaltime).TheLIRcrossovercanthus
bedescribedashavingaflatGroupDelayresponse,andthusentirelyfreeofGroupDelayDistortion.
TheshapeoftheLIRcrossove
rfilterisquitesimilartoa4thorderor24dB/OctLinkwitzRileyfilter,andmaintains zerophase
differencebetweentheadjacentbandsacrossthecrossoverregiontokeepthepolarresponserocksteady.
FIRLinearPhaseEqualisation
The Input HighShelf Equalisers use Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filtering to produce Linear Phase equalisation; that is all
frequencies are delayed by the same amount, perfectly preserving the transient response. This can also be important in
applicationswheredifferentamountsofEQareappliedtodifferentpartsofaspeakercluster,suchastoadd'Throw'EQboos
t
sothatpartsofclusterwhicharethrowingfurthercanhaveHFabsorptioncorrectionadded.IfthisEQisnotlinearphase,then
thezoneswherethespeakerscombinemaysufferfrequencyresponseanomalies.



Please note that the use of unbalanced connections is not recommended, however when connecting the amplifier to an

connectedtoXLRpin1withashortconnectionmadebetweenpin1andpin3.

(C.V.)usingtheLoadparameterintheOutputmenu.ThereareseveralC.V.settings(25V,70Vand100VLine)whichdetermine
themaximumRMSvoltagethattheamplifierw
illproduce.Selecttheonewhichisappropriatefortheinstallation.Anumberof

1.PowerSwitch‐Appliesmainspowertothedevice.Ifthedevicehasentered
Sleepmode,itmaybewokenupagaineitherfromtheVuNetapplication,or
byswitchingthisswitchoff

2. Graphical Display‐ This will show the Home screen; a useful overview of
channel allocation. On most pages the currently selected channel and
parameterinformation is displayedon the upper part of the screen and the
parametervalueonthelowerpartofthescreen.Thescreencontrastcanbe
changedbypre
ssingthe<UTILITY> buttontonavigate to“Screen”andusing
the encoders to change the percentage; this can also optimise the viewing
angle.
3. Status Indicators‐ The “OVERLAY” indicator shows when there are
parametersactiveonagrouplayer,whichtheusercannotaccessthroughth

front panel of the device (see Overlay Flush). The “DANTE” indicator shows
thataDantenetworkfeedisrouted.The“ONLINE”indicatorhasthreestates:

theunitissearchingforanIPaddress;iftheunitdoesnotfi
ndanIPaddress
