Chapter 1 Accura 2350-DCM Installation
glossary
- Accura 2300[S] stands for Accura 2300 or Accura 2300S.
- DCM module is a shorthand notation for Accura 2350-DCM module.
You can connect DCM module to Accura 2300[S] with communication line and use the LCD screen of Accura
2300[S] to check the measurement values of DCM module or to set up the settings conveniently. Accura 2300
and Accura 2300S have no functional differences in their operation with DCM module, and the LCD display
screen sequence and segment display are slightly different.
DCM-500V module can only work with Accura 2300[S] via communication line(link-operation). DCM-50V
module can work with Accura 2300[S], and can also be operated alone(stand-alone operation).

Communication Line Connection
To operate DCM module with Accura 2300[S], connect RJ12 communication line to RJ12A and RJ12B ports.
DCM module receives control power through communication line. In case of stand-alone operation in which
Accura 2350-DCM-50V module does not connect communication line, the control power is supplied by bus
bar DC voltage.
Fig 1.8 Communication Line Connection
Note
The power consumption of Accura 2350-DCM module is triple that of Accura 2350-3P three-phase power
measuring module. Therefore, the number of Accura 2350-DCM modules that can be connected to Accura
2300 or Accura 2300S is limited to total 10 modules, 5 modules each for RJ12-1 and RJ12-2 port.

1. The power source side is distinguished by S and the load side by L. Both sides should be connected with DC voltage
according to the polarity indication. When the polarity is reversed, voltage and current are measured as negative values.
2. DCM-50V module is supplied with control power by bus bar DC voltage in case of stand-alone operation.
3. Number of DCM modules that can be connected to Accura 2300[S] is limited to 10 modules (5 modules for each RJ12 port).

1. Over/Under event is detected by monitoring 20ms voltage/current aggregation data.
2. Aggregation data over 1 second is also provided. Refer to the aggregation section of Accura 2300[S] User Guide for details.
3. The minimum DC voltage for stand-alone operation in DCM-50V module is 12V.
4. The measured value below the configured minimum measurement is treated as zero.
5. Current measurement values may contain errors as the temperature varies.
6. Over event occurs when the measured value exceeds threshold 1by time delay.
7. Under event occurs when the measured value exceeds threshold 1 and is above or equal to threshold 2 by time delay.

Sampling
Voltage and current are sampled every 1ms.
20ms aggregation
Every 20ms, N data of 1ms resolution are averaged to generate voltage/current data of 20ms resolution. The
averaging number N is user configurable from 1 to 32, with default 20. The obtained voltage/current data of
20ms resolution is used to monitor over/under event.

The data of 20ms resolution is averaged for 0.5 second every 0.5 seconds to generate voltage/current data of
0.5 second resolution. The generated voltage/current data of 0.5 second resolution is used to generate
aggregation data of one second or more. For more than 1 second aggregation data, refer to the aggregation

Event block per channel is shown in Figure 2.4 and DCM module supports five channel event blocks.
Select the input signal from voltage and current, and select the event type from Over/Under. Voltage/Current
data to be monitored is data of 20ms resolution obtained by N average of 1ms sampling data. The event is
divided into a start event and an end event. A detailed description of the event is described in the table below.
Item
Description
Event type
Off / Over / Under
Monitoring signal
Choose between voltage and current.
Start level
Event threshold 1 level
Residual level
Event threshold 2 level, used only in under event. The start event for under event occurs only if the
monitoring signal is above the residual level, and is less than the start level for time delay.
Hysteresis
If the measured value repeats a frequent rising and falling of the event start level, a lot of events
may occur. Therefore, proper hysteresis setting is necessary for effective event management.
Hysteresis setting is not supported on LCD screen of DCM module and can only be set by
communication. Default value is 2% of rating. For details, refer to Communication Setting section.
End level
In case of over event, end level is obtained by subtracting hysteresis from threshold 1 level. In case
of under event, end level is obtained by adding hysteresis to threshold 1 level.
Time delay
When the start level is exceeded and the time delay elapses, a start event is generated. If the start
level is exceeded but is not maintained for time delay, the start event does not occur.
Start event
When the monitoring signal exceeds start level in over or under direction, a start event occurs when
the time delay elapses. The event LED is blinking by the start event, and DO is also activated when it
is set to DO link-operation.
End event
If the monitoring signal is recovered within the end level with the start event occurring, an end event
occurs. The event LED is not turned off by the end event but is turned off only by the user SET button
input. If the DO is linked to the event, the DO is also cleared with the user SET button.
Event Alarm Generation
Event alarm is provided when a start event occurs. The basic event alarm is the blinking of the event LED and
the blinking of LCD screen to display the event contents. Additional event alarm is digital output (DO) contacts.
This additional digital output contact alarm can be enabled and is off by default.

Event Alarm Clear
If the user presses the SET button for more than 1 second, the event alarm is cleared. When the event alarm is
cleared, the display returns to the display mode, the event LED turns off, and the linked digital output contact
is also cleared.
Note
To clear the event alarm, press EVENT button on Accura 2300[S]. If you confirm the event log with EVENT
button of Accura 2300[S], event alarm of Accura 2300[S] and event alarm of DCM module are also cleared.
However, releasing the event alarm with the SET button of DCM module clears only the event alarm of DCM
module, but does not clear the event alarm of Accra 2300[S].
Event Alarm Auto-Clear
Event alarm auto-clear function is basically blocked and can be set from 1 minute to 999 minutes. After the
event alarm occurs, it is automatically cleared when the auto-clear time elapses.

Under Event
Under event is generated when the monitoring signal falls below the start level(threshold 1) and over the
residual level(threshold 2) by time delay. If the residual level is abnormally configured above the start level, the
residual level is considered to be zero.
Figure 2.8 shows the case where the monitoring signal is over the residual level and figure 2.9 shows the case
where the monitoring signal is below the residual level. Under event does not occur if it falls below the residual
level from normal state within time delay. When the residual level is set to 0, it operates only by the start level.

Uncountable Pulse
1
Single pulse of closed contact is generated. Command is cleared automatically after
pulse generation. Additional commands within the pulse period are ignored.
0
It is meaningless because command is automatically cleared after pulse generation.
Countable Pulse 5
1
Single pulse of closed contact is generated. Command is cleared automatically after
pulse generation. Additional commands within the pulse period are counted and the

0
It is meaningless because command is automatically cleared after pulse generation.
2. A pulse is defined as pulse period and pulse on time.
3. Explanation of the case where output polarity is "normal". In the case of "reverse", the contact operation is reversed.
4. If DO is set as event link, DO is activated when a start event occurs and DO is cleared by a long press of SET button.
5. It is supported only by communication command, and it operates as uncountable pulse in DO link-operation of event.
