Chapter 1 Installation and Wiring
- Accura 2300[S] indicates Accura 2300 or Accura 2300S.
- DCM module is a shorthand notation for Accura 2350-DCM module.
You can connect the DCM module to Accura 2300[S] with a communication line, check the measurement
data of the DCM module, and perform device setup on the LCD screen of Accura 2300[S]. Accura 2300
and Accura 2300S have no functional differences in their operation with the DCM module. However, the
sequence of their LCD screens and display segments are slightly different.
Accura 2350-DCM-500V module can only operate with Accura 2300[S] via a communication line (linked
operation). However, Accura 2350-DCM-50V module can operate with Accura 2300[S] and can also
operate alone(stand-alone operation).

Power Supply Connection
The DCM module measures the voltage between the +/- bus bars and the current that flows through
the + bus bar. It is possible to use both + and - bus bars and only the + bus bar when making
connections to the power source and the load.

Communication Cable Connection
To operate the DCM module with Accura 2300[S], connect the RJ12 communication line cable to the
RJ12A and RJ12B ports. The DCM module receives control power through the communication line cable.
When Accura 2350-DCM-50V module operates alone, it receives control power via the DC voltage
busbar.
Fig 1.8 Communication Cable Connection
Note
The power consumption of Accura 2350-DCM module is three times that of Accura 2350-3P power
measuring module. Therefore, the number of Accura 2350-DCM modules that can be connected to
Accura 2300 or Accura 2300S is limited to 10, 5 modules each connected to the RJ12-1 or RJ12-2 port.

2. In addition to the data obtained at 0.5-second aggregation intervals, the data aggregated over 1 second are also
provided. Refer to the aggregation section of Accura 2300[S] User Guide for details.
3. The rated voltages(Un) of the DCM-50V and the DCM-500V modules are 50 V and 500 V, respectively.
4. The minimum DC voltage for the stand-alone operation of the DCM-50V module is 12V.
5. The measured value below the configured minimum measured value is regarded as zero.
6. The rated current(Ib) of the DCM-50V and the DCM-500V modules is 80 A.
7. Measured current values may involve errors as the temperature changes based on the calibration temperature.
8. An Over-voltage/current event occurs when the measured value rises above the threshold and is maintained during
the set delay time.
9. An Under-voltage/current event occurs when the measured value is above the threshold 2 value but is below the
threshold 1 value, and the value is maintained during the set delay time.

Sampling
Voltage and current signals are sampled every 1ms to get voltage and current data.
Data Aggregated for 20 Milliseconds
Voltage and current data are generated by dividing the data obtained every 20 ms with the
measurement resolution of 1 ms by the number of data samples. Users can set up the number of data
samples with numbers ranging from 1 to 32. The default setting is 20. Over/Under voltage and current
events are detected with the data generated every 20 ms.

Voltage and current data are generated by dividing the data obtained every 0.5 seconds with the
measurement resolution of 20ms by the number of data samples. Voltage and current data generated
every 0.5 seconds are used to generate the data aggregated over 1 second. For data aggregated over 1

The event block for a channel is shown in Figure 2.4 and the DCM module supports five-channel event
blocks.
Select voltage or current as an input signal, and select Over or Under as an event type. Voltage/Current
data to be monitored are data generated by dividing the data obtained every 20 ms with the
measurement resolution of 1 ms by the number of data samples. An event is divided into a start event
and an end event. Detailed descriptions of events are shown in the table below.
Item
Description
Event type
Off / Over / Under
Monitored
signal
Choose voltage or current.
Start level
Configures the threshold 1 level for detection of the start of an event
Residual level
The threshold 2 level is available only for detection of Under event. An Under event occurs when
the measured value is above the threshold 2 value but is below the threshold 1 value, and the
value is maintained during the set delay time.
Hysteresis
If the measured value frequently rises above or falls below the threshold value, many events may
occur. Therefore, it is necessary to set a proper hysteresis value for effective event management.
Setting the hysteresis value is not supported on the LCD screen of the DCM module. It is
possible to set the value only via communication. The default value is 2 % of the rated voltage.
End level
In case of Over event, the end level is determined by subtracting the hysteresis from the
threshold 1 value. In case of Under event, the end level is determined by adding the hysteresis to
the threshold 1 value.
Time delay
When the measured value rises above the threshold value, and the set delay time elapses, a start
event occurs. If the measured value exceeds the threshold value but is not maintained during the
set delay time, a start event does not occur.
DO operation
When a start event occurs, a command can be issued to a DO channel, and the feature can be
set to Disable/Enable.
Start event
When the measured value rises above the threshold value, and the set delay time elapses, a start
event occurs. The start event occurs again after an event ends and the measured value exceeds
the threshold value again. When a start event occurs, the event LED blinks. If DO channels are
Accura 2350-DCM User Guide

Page 19
configured to operate when an event occurs, commands are issued to the DO channels.
End event
An end event occurs when the measured value falls back to the threshold value set for detection
of an end event after a start event occurs. monitoring signal is recovered within the end level
with the start event occurring,. The event LED is not turned off only when users press the SET
button. If DO channels are configured to operate when an event occurs, users can reset DOs with
the SET button.
Generation of Event Alarms
Event alarms are provided to notify users of the occurrence of events. When an event occurs, the event
LED and the LCD screen indicating event data blink. Alarms can also be generated via DO contacts.
Alarm settings can be configured for each DO channel, and the setting is disabled by default.

Clearing Event Alarm
If the user long presses the SET button, an event alarm is cleared. When the event alarm is cleared, the
screen returns to the display mode, the event LED turns off, and the linked digital output contact is also
cleared.
Note
To clear the event alarm, press EVENT button on Accura 2300[S]. If you confirm the event log with
EVENT button of Accura 2300[S], event alarm of Accura 2300[S] and event alarm of DCM module are
also cleared. However, releasing the event alarm with the SET button of DCM module clears only the
event alarm of DCM module, but does not clear the event alarm of Accra 2300[S].
Auto Clearing Event Alarms
The auto clear function of event alarms is disabled by default and can be set with numbers indicating
the minute from 1 to 999 minutes. After an event alarm occurs and the auto clear time elapses, the
alarm is automatically cleared.
