Warnings and Precautions
1. Read all of these warnings and save them for later reference.
2. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on this unit.
3. Unplug this unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use
a damp cloth for cleaning.
4. Do not use this unit in or near water.
5. Do not place this unit on an unstable cart, stand, or table. The unit may fall, causing serious
damage.
6. Slots and openings on the cabinet top, back, and bottom are provided for ventilation. To
ensure safe and reliable operation of this unit, and to protect it from overheating, do not block
or cover these openings. Do not place this unit on a bed, sofa, rug, or similar surface, as the
ventilation openings on the bottom of the cabinet will be blocked. This unit should never be
placed near or over a heat register or radiator. This unit should not be placed in a built-in
installation unless proper ventilation is provided.
7. This product should only be operated from the type of power source indicated on the marking
label of the AC adapter. If you are not sure of the type of power available, consult your
Datavideo dealer or your local power company.
8. Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not locate this unit where the power cord
will be walked on, rolled over, or otherwise stressed.
9. If an extension cord must be used with this unit, make sure that the total of the ampere ratings
on the products plugged into the extension cord do not exceed the extension cord rating.
10. Make sure that the total amperes of all the units that are plugged into a single wall outlet do
not exceed 15 amperes.
11. Never push objects of any kind into this unit through the cabinet ventilation slots, as they may
touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in risk of fire or electric
shock. Never spill liquid of any kind onto or into this unit.
12. Except as specifically explained elsewhere in this manual, do not attempt to service this
product yourself. Opening or removing covers that are marked “Do Not Remove” may expose

you to dangerous voltage points or other risks, and will void your warranty. Refer all service
issues to qualified service personnel.
13. Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer to qualified service personnel under the
following conditions:
a. When the power cord is damaged or frayed;
b. When liquid has spilled into the unit;
c. When the product has been exposed to rain or water;
d. When the product does not operate normally under normal operating conditions. Adjust only
those controls that are covered by the operating instructions in this manual; improper
adjustment of other controls may result in damage to the unit and may often require extensive
work by a qualified technician to restore the unit to normal operation;
e. When the product has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged;
f. When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance, indicating a need for service.
Warranty
Standard Warranty
Datavideo equipment are guaranteed against any manufacturing defects for one year from the
date of purchase.
The original purchase invoice or other documentary evidence should be supplied at the time of
any request for repair under warranty.
The product warranty period begins on the purchase date. If the purchase date is unknown,
the product warranty period begins on the thirtieth day after shipment from a Datavideo office.
All non-Datavideo manufactured products (product without Datavideo logo) have only one
year warranty from the date of purchase.
Damage caused by accident, misuse, unauthorized repairs, sand, grit or water is not covered
under warranty.
Viruses and malware infections on the computer systems are not covered under warranty.
Any errors that are caused by unauthorized third-party software installations, which are not
required by our computer systems, are not covered under warranty.
All mail or transportation costs including insurance are at the expense of the owner.
All other claims of any nature are not covered.
All accessories including headphones, cables, and batteries are not covered under warranty.
Warranty only valid in the country or region of purchase.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
Three Year Warranty
All Datavideo products purchased after July 1st, 2017 are qualified
for a free two years extension to the standard warranty, providing
the product is registered with Datavideo within 30 days of purchase.
Certain parts with limited lifetime expectancy such as LCD panels, DVD drives, Hard Drive, Solid
State Drive, SD Card, USB Thumb Drive, Lighting, Camera module, PCIe Card are covered for 1
year.

The three-year warranty must be registered on Datavideo's official website or with your local
Datavideo office or one of its authorized distributors within 30 days of purchase.
Disposal
For EU Customers only - WEEE Marking
This symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product must
not be disposed of with your other household waste. Instead, it is your
responsibility to dispose of your waste equipment by handing it over to a
designated collection point for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic
equipment. The separate collection and recycling of your waste equipment at
the time of disposal will help to conserve natural resources and ensure that it
is recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment. For more information
about where you can drop off your waste equipment for recycling, please contact your local city
office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.

1. Introduction
The Datavideo MCU-400 Multi-Camera Control Unit is designed to connect and control up to 4 BC-
100 cameras directly by the Cat.5e or Cat.6 Ethernet Cable. The MCU-400 can control the Shutter,
Iris, White Balance, User x and Gain adjustment functions of the BC-100 camera.
The Datavideo MCU-400 is designed to mount at 19” rack which is great for the outdoor
production. Moreover, the MCU-400 also provides features including easy-operation, cost effective
and the control for main functions of the camera. Those features make the MCU-400 the best
solution.

3. Connection and Control
3.1 Rear View
Remote Control
Those 4 RJ-45 ports allows users to control up to 4 BC-100
cameras by the Ethernet cables through the RS-422 protocol.
DVIP Port
This DVIP port allows users to connect the MCU-400 to a remote
controller such as the Datavideo CCU-200 by the RJ-45 Ethernet
cable to control the BC-100 camera by the DVIP protocol.
F/W UPGRADE
This USB port is used for upgrading the firmware of the MCU-400.
12V DC Input
Please connect the bundled 12V power adapter to this interface.
The connection can be secured by screwing the outer fastening
ring of the DC In plug to the socket.
Grounding Terminal
When connecting this unit to any other component, make sure
that it is properly grounded by connecting this terminal to an
appropriate point. When connecting, use the socket and be sure
to use wire with a cross-sectional area of at least 1.0 mm
2

4. The Operation of the Front Panel Buttons
4.1 How to SwitchBetweenCamera1/Camera2/Camera3/Camera4
Please follow following steps for switching between camera 1, camera 2, camera 3 and camera 4.
Step 1. Please press CAM1 to CAM4 buttons to select your desired camera.
Step 2. The button of the selected CAM will be shown in red.
Step 3. If the CAM is connected but not selected, the button will be shown in white.
Step 4. For the CAM that is not connected, the backlight of the button will not be lit.
4.2 How to Save the Parameter Settings
Please save the parameters by following steps.
Save current parameters into the USER1 or USER2 of the BC-100.
Step 1. Please short press the SAVE button . At this time, the SAVE button will be changed to
red from white. At the same time, the USER1 and USER2 buttons are flickering in red.
Step 2. Please press USER1 or USER2 . The pressed button will be lit in red for 1
second and then changed back to white light again. Another button and the SAVE button
will change back to white light directly. At this time, the operation for saving parameters
into the USER1 or USER2 of the BC-100 is successfully completed.
Save Current Parameter Settings in the BC-100 to the MCU-400.
Step 1. Please long press the SAVE button for 3 seconds and then the button will be
flickering in red until current BC-100 settings are saved to MCU-400 successfully.
Note: There is one set of parameter only that can be saved in the MCU-400. If users save new set
of parameter into the MCU-400, the previous saved one will be overwritten. There are several
parameters that must be saved including Frame Rate, Exposure Mode, White Balance, Gain Setting,
IRIS, EV, Shutter, HDR, Brightness, Saturation, Contrast, Sharpness, 3D DNR, Audio Standard and
Audio Setting.
4.3 How to Load the Saved Parameters
Please follow following steps for loading the saved parameter settings.
Loading the parameters saved in the USER1 and USER2 of the BC-100.
Step 1. Please short press the LOAD button . Generally speaking, the LOAD button is lit in
white. After pressing by users, the LOAD button will be lit in red. The USER1 and USER2 buttons will
be flickering in red.

Step 2. After pressing the USER1 or USER2 button, the pressed button will be lit in red for 1 second
and then it will change back to white light. Another button and the LOAD button will be lit in white
directly.
How to save the parameters that are saved in the MCU-400 into the BC-100 Camera
Step 1. Please long press the LOAD button for 3 seconds and then the LOAD button will be
flickering in red until the current parameters that are saved in the MCU-400 are saved successfully
to the BC-100. After that, the LOAD button will change back to the white light.
Note: There are several parameters that must be loaded including Frame Rate, Exposure Mode,
White Balance, Gain Setting, IRIS, EV, Shutter, HDR, Brightness, Saturation, Contrast, Sharpness,
3D DNR, Audio Standard and Audio Setting.
4.4 About the LCD
After the system is powered on, there are several parameters including Exposure Mode,
White Balance, Frame Rate, EV, Shutter and Gain that will be shown on the LCD.
After entering the MENU, there are several parameters including Brightness, Saturation,
Contrast, Sharpness, 3D DNR, Audio Standard, Audio Setting, Frame Rate, Factory Default,
Firmware Version and other control items that are related to the MCU that will be shown by
the LCD.
4.5 The Operation of the MENU Button
4.5.1 How to Enter and Exit the MENU
Please follow following steps for entering the MENU.
Step 1. Please press the MENU button and then the MENU button will be shown in red and
users can enter the MENU.
Please follow following steps for exiting the MENU.
Step 1. After entering the MENU, press the MENU button again or press the CANCEL button
will help users to exit the MENU or to go back to the previous layer of the MENU. When the MENU
is exited, the MENU button will be shown in white.
Note：When entering the MENU, other functions will be locked (The backlight of the button will
be turned off) except CAM 1 to CAM 4 buttons. When the MENU is exited, backlights for other
buttons will be turned on again.
4.6 The Operation of the Knob beside the MENU Button
For the operation of the knob which is next to the MENU button , please follow following
descriptions.
Turn the Knob Clockwise: After entering the MENU, please turn the knob clockwise and then
the arrow will go down through each option for users to select their desired option. When the

knob is turned clockwise, the value of the corresponding option will be increased (Turn to the
right side).
Turn the Knob Counter-Clockwise: After entering the MENU, please turn the knob counter-
clockwise and then the arrow will go up through each option for users to select their desired
option. When the knob is turned counter-clockwise, the arrow of the MENU will go up. The
value of the corresponding option will be decreased (Turn to the left side).
Press the Knob: To select or confirm the selected option.
4.7 The Operation of the MWB PRO Button Set
For the operation of the MWB PRO Button Set , please refer to following
descriptions.
When the W.BAL White Balance control switch is switched to A or Locked, the
backlight of all buttons will be OFF.
When the W.BAL White Balance control switch is switched to M, the Control for the MWB
Button Set is activated.
4.7.1The Operation for the COLOR TEMP +/- Buttons
When the W.BAL is switched to M, the COLOR TEMP +/- buttons which are next to the
MWB PRO button will be shown in white. If the MWB PRO button is shown in white, the
backlight for the R GAIM and B GAIN buttons which are at the right side of the MWB
PRO button set will be OFF. At this time, the color temperature will be shown on the LCD.
Users can press the COLOR TEMP+/- buttons on the left side of the MWB PRO button set
for one time. The pressed button will be flickering in red and then it will be shown in white.
The color temperature will be adjusted for one segment.
Users can press and hold the COLOR TEMP+/- buttons on the left side of the MWB PRO
button set. At this time, those buttons will be shown in red and the COLOR Temp adjusting
speed will become faster gradually. After the pressed button is released, the button will be
shown in white.

4.7.2 The Operation of the R GAIN/B GAIN +/- Buttons
Please press the MWB PRO button at the center. After that, the MWB PRO button will
be lit in red. The backlight of the COLOR TEMP+/- buttons on the left side will be OFF. The
R GAIN and B GAIN buttons on the right side will be lit in white. The R GAIN and B
GAIN values will be shown by the LCD.
Press the R Gain/B Gain +/- buttons on the right side for one time and then the button will be
shown in red and then the color will change to white immediately. The R Gain/B Gain value will be
adjusted for one segment.
Press and hold the R GAIN/B GAIN +/- buttons on the right side and then the button will be
shown in red and the speed for adjusting the R GAIN/B GAIN will become faster. Once the pressed
button is released, the button will be shown in white.
4.8 The Operation of the FOCUS Mode Selection Toggle Switch and the
Focal Length Adjusting Knob
FOCUS Mode Selection Toggle Switch
This toggle switch allows users to select three FOCUS modes including A (Auto FOCUS)、M
(Manual FOCUS) and LENS(LENS FOCUS).
Push the toggle switch to the upmost point and then the A (Auto FOCUS) will be activated.
Push the toggle switch to the middle and then M (Manual FOCUS) will be activated. At this
time, the focal length adjusting knob which is located on the right side of the FOCUS toggle
switch can be controlled by users.
Push the toggle switch down for one segment ( to the lowest point) to the LENS and then the
FOCIS function will be OFF.
Focal Length Adjusting Knob
This Focal Length Adjusting Knob can be controlled by users only when the FOCUS toggle
switch is located at M (Manual Focus Mode).
Turn the knob clockwise allows users for FOCUSING FAR.
Turn the knob counter-clockwise allows users for FOCUSING NEAR.
