Welcome to WallControl 10

for Milestone XProtect

Thank you for purchasing WallControl 10 for Milestone

XProtect®. The aim of this document is to guide you through

the process of installing the plug-in.

CONTENTS

Your package contains:

WallControl 10 for Milestone XProtect USB media.

INSTALLATION

It is recommended that the installation of WallControl 10 for Milestone XProtect is carried

out by your Milestone Administrator.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

The Datapath video wall controller:

Datapath Display Driver Install version 4.5.0 or later.

WallControl 10-VMS1 version 1.6.0 or later with VMS1 licensed dongle installed.

The Milestone XProtect system:

Milestone 2018 R2 or later installed.

Milestone ONVIF Bridge installed.

Prior to installation you should ensure your Operating Systems have all the latest updates

installed and the system has been restarted to run the nal part of any updates.

1. INSTALLING WALLCONTROL 10

FOR MILESTONE XPROTECT

The Plug-in must be installed on all systems that run:

The Milestone XProtect Smart Client.

The Milestone XProtect Management Client.

The Milestone XProtect Event Server.

To install the plug-in, insert the WallControl 10 for Milestone XProtect USB Media and run

the WallControl 10 VMS1 plug-in Installer.exe.

When the install wizard is displayed, read and agree to the End User License Agreement by

clicking the “I agree to the license terms and conditions”.

If the system you are installing the plug-in on is running the Milestone XProtect Event

Server click on the “Event Server Install” check box. If the Event server is not running on the

system, the check box should not be selected.

Press install to commence the installation and follow the instructions presented by the

Installation Wizard.

2. EVENT SERVER

When WallControl 10 for Milestone XProtect has been installed onto a system running the

Event Server for the rst time, the Event Server must be restarted. The Event Server can be

restarted by:

Rebooting the system or

Right click on the Event Server icon located in the System Tray and select “Restart Event

Server Service”.

3. GROUP POLICY REMOTE INSTALLATION

A Microsoft Windows Installer Package (msi) installer is supplied for Group Policy remote

deployment.

To remotely install the plug-in onto target systems, insert the WallControl 10

for Milestone XProtect USB Media and run the WallControl 10 VMS1 plug-in.msi.

Note:

The Group Policy Remote Installation will not install the additional components

required for the Event Server. The plug-in for the Event Server must be installed

using the maininstall.exe.

4. OPENING THE XPROTECT CLIENTS

Once the installation of WallControl 10 for Milestone XProtect is complete, the XProtect

Smart Client and the XProtect Management Client can be opened:

Start | Programs | Milestone

WallControl 10 walls must be congured within the XProtect Management Client (See Help

Files) before the XProtect Smart Client can connect to the video wall controller.

The WallControl 10 or Milestone XProtect appears as two panels (Zones and Layouts) in the

MIP Plug-ins tab within the XProtect Smart Client.

5. HELP

Help les are installed with both the XProtect Smart Client and the XProtect

Management Client. These should be used to assist in the conguration and use of the

WallControl 10 Plug-in.

PDF versions of the help les and example Network topologies are available

on the USB media.
