Aceilinghoistisabattery-poweredtransferdevice,designedtobe
usedindoorinnormaltemperatureandhumidity.
Commonliftingsituationsare:
•Betweenthebedandawheelchair
•Toandfromthetoilet
•Loweringandraisingpatientsto/fromthefloor
Theceilinghoistcanbeusedtotransferandpositioncompletely
orpartiallyimmobilepatientsintherecommendedtracksystem.
Allpositionchangesarepossiblewithoutassistanceofthepatient.
Theceilinghoistisonlyintendedtoliftpatientsuptothemaximum
weightlimitstatedintheusermanual.
Therearenoknowncontraindicationsforthisproduct.Usingthe
hoistforpurposesotherthantransferofpeopleisnotadvised.
Selectingtheappropriateslingsandaccessoriesforeach
individualisimportanttoassuresafetywhenusingaceiling

Theceilinghoisthasanexpectedlifetimeof10yearswhenused
inaccordancewithsafetyinstructions,maintenanceintervalsand
correctuse,statedinthismanual.After10yearsuse,itmustbe

Theeffectiveproductlifetimecanvaryaccordingtofrequencyand

Ifauserunintentionallytrapsthehandintheliftingstrap

6.2AttachingtheSling
CAUTION!
Becarefulwhenattachingtheslingonthehooks.
–Checkthattheslingstrapshavebeenpositioned
completelyontothehooks.
–Whenpressingtheupbuttontoliftthepatient,check
againthatalltheslingstrapsremaincorrectlyplaced
inthehooks.
Theslingstrapsaretobehookedinpairs(onefromthebackand
onefromtheleg)ontheirownsuspensionhook.
Whenattachingtheslingtothehooks,andthestrapsare
twisted,thestrapswillrotateandstretchout,thusensuring
trouble-freeoperation.

WARNING!
Onlypersonnelwhohavereceivedtrainingregarding
theuseofliftingequipmentandfittingofslingsshould
usethehoist.
–Planthemove.Avoidleavingtheclientinthesling
unattended.
–Theceilinghoistliftsquickly.Beforelifting,checkthat
theclientiscompletelyfreeofhis/hersurroundings.
–Thepatient’sbodypartsmustnotbeindangerof
becomingtrapped.
–Checkthattheredemergencystrap,handcontroland
handcontrolcablearefreeoftheliftingstraps,client
andotherobjectsbeforetheceilinghoistisactivated
andmovedupordown.
–Whentheceilinghoistisusedcorrectly,theclient
shouldonlybeliftedtotheextentthatshe/heisclear
ofthesurfaceandshouldbemovedatthisheight.
6.4Liftingtoandfromaseatedposition
Followthisprocedurewhenliftingapatientfromaseatedposition
(wheelchair,commode,etc.).
1.Traversetheceilinghoistalongthetracktowardsthepatient
tobelifted.
2.Positionthesuspensionhooksatthesameheightasthepatient’s
chestandnocloserthanmid-thigh.
3.Positionthesuspensionhookssotheyareparalleltothe
patient’sshoulders.
