Configuring a Nanobeam as an Access Point
1. Connect the device to the internet.
2. Open a web browser and navigate to 192.168.1.20.
3. Click on
dismiss
when asked to change the password.
4. Click on the tab
Wireless
and select
Access Point
under
Wireless mode
.
5. Check
WDS (Transparent Bridge Mode)
, Frequency Scan List, MHz
, and
Hide
Indoor Channels
.
6. Select bandwidth under
Channel Width
. Station and access point should
have the same band width.
7. Select
Frequency Scan List, MHz
, click on
Edit
and select the desired
frequency. Station and access point should have the same frequency.
8. Select
WPA2/AES
udner
Security
and choose a
WPA Preshared Key
with at
least eight characters. These settings has to be identical for the
Station
and
Access Point
.
9. Under the tab
Network
, enter an IPaddress for the unit, for example,
10.0.0.81.
10. Under the tab
Wireless
, enter
Output Power
, the value should be the same
on the station and access point and is chosen depending on the distance
between the devices. Note that the signal is cleaner when a lower power is
selected.
11. Click on
Change
and then
apply
.
12. Disconnect the device from the network but keep it powered. The units
should not be connected to the same network.
13. After the access point has been created, click on
Select...
by
SSID
for the
station and lock it to the access point.
After the access point and station has been configured, change the computer's
network card to 10.0.0.200, place and aim the units. The wireless connection
improves when there are less obstructions between them.
