Usingthethreemodes
Theadapterworksinthefollowingthreevideooutputmodes:

Bydefault,theUSB3.0toDVI/VGAMonitorAdapterworksinextendmode.
Extendmode
Whentheadapterisinextendmode,itsplitsyourdisplayacrossmultiplemonitors.
Therearethreeoptionswhenyouareusingextendmode:
Extend:Whenyouselectthisoption,yournotebookcomputermonitorbecomestheprimarydisplay
andtheexternalmonitor(s)becomethesecondarydisplay(s),andtheexternalmonitordisplay(s)areon
therightsideofthenotebookcomputermonitordisplaybydefault.
ExtendTo:Whenyouselectthisoption,yournotebookcomputermonitorbecomestheprimarydisplay
andtheexternalmonitor(s)becomethesecondarydisplay(s).Youcangiveeachmonitoritsownframe
bufferthroughthesubmenuoptionsRight,Left,Above,andBeloworthroughdragoperations.The
displayspaceisacontinuousarea;therefore,windowsandobjectscanbemovedbetweendifferent
displays,orevenstraddledacrossmultipledisplays.
SetasMainMonitor:Whenyouselectthisoption,theexternalmonitor(s)becometheprimarydisplay(s)
andthenotebookcomputermonitorbecomesthesecondarydisplay.
Inextendmode,youcandraganddropwindowsfromonedisplaytotheother(s).Also,youcanincrease
yourproductivitybydoingthefollowing:

monitordisplay(s)arealwaysblank.
Ensurethatthedevicedriversareinstalledfollowingtheinstallationinstructionsandtheiconforthe
adapterisvisibleintheWindowsnoticationarea.
Ensurethatthevideooutputfunctionisnotdisabled.

uninstalltheUSB3.0toDVI/VGAMonitorAdapterdevicedriver.Then,reinstalltheUSB3.0toDVI/VGA
MonitorAdapterandthedevicedriver.
Problem:Youcannotplaybackvideosonyourexternalmonitor(s)butcanplaythembackonyour
notebookcomputermonitor.
Solution:SomenotebookcomputersdonotsupporttheCertiedOutputProtectionProtocol(COPP),
andyouwillnotbeabletoplaybacktheprotectedvideosontheexternalmonitorsconnectedtothe
USB3.0toDVI/VGAMonitorAdapter.TheCorelWinDVD10programalsohaslimitationsonplaying
backvideosintheWindowsXPoperatingsystem.Toplaybackvideosontheexternalmonitor(s),you
canconnecttheexternalmonitor(s)totheVGAconnector(s)onyournotebookcomputer,andextend

2.Dragthetitlebarofthewindowtothemonitorthatyouwantthewindowtobedisplayed.
