the essential requirements of the Machinery Directive are applied to the product (or products) mentioned in the table below and;
the product (or products) complies with the provisions dened in the regulations mentioned in the table below and;
the technical documentation is compiled in accordance with the Machinery Directive Annex VII part B;
and undertakes:
to transmit relevant information of the product (or products) by appropriate method in response to reasoned request by the national authorities.
However that transmission shall be without prejudice to our intellectual property rights of the product (or products);

Power Supply
Make sure the power supply used is always within the following range.

220 to 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz (EU)
When you power other appliances from the same AC outlet, make sure that the combined power
consumption does not exceed the power supply capacity.
Rated current (Rated power): 8.1 A (890 W) (North America)
4.2 A (860 W) (EU)
Use only the power supply voltage specified on the main nameplate.
Using other voltages could result in a re or an electrical shock.
Make sure that the combined power consumption of the appliances to be
connected does not exceed the capacity rating of the power outlets or plug
receptacles.
Exceeding the capacity rating could cause the power outlets, plug receptacles, or power extension cords to
overheat and catch a re.

Keep this unit and the power cord away from heaters and heater vents.
Excessive heat could melt the cover or power cord covering, and result in a re or an electrical shock.
Do not place metal objects or vessels containing liquids on top of the unit.
The entry of any metal object or liquid could result in a re or an electrical shock.
Do not insert any metal or easily-combustible object inside this unit.

you need to stop the machine urgently.
In normal use, press the stop key on the
control panel.
To stop the machine without using the stop key or emergency stop switch
• Open the vertical conveyance board.
Lift up the conveyance board of LUL-HM.

1. Features of This Machine
Two DSC-10/20s can be used together.
When using two DSC-10/20s, the one on the left side as seen from the control panel is called Tower A and
the one on the right side is called Tower B.

Paper is fed by air belt suction and processed at high speed.
The following two paper processing modes are available.
[Block Mode]
Paper can be loaded while the machine is being operated to reduce operation time.
[Program Mode]
The collation method can be selected from four types; all bin mode, alternate mode, interleaf 1, inter-
leaf 2.

[1] Control Panel Consists of the touch panel, keys and lamps.
Used for operating or setting the machine.
[2] Emergency Stop Switch Press this switch to stop operations in emergency.
[3] Paper Feed Bin Base Supports the paper feed table
[4] Connecting Plate Used for connecting and securing two towers together.
[5] Main Power Switch When pressed, the power turns ON and the machine sets into the standby
state.
[6] Power Switch Turns ON/OFF the power of each tower.
When connecting two towers, the power of both towers can be turned ON/
OFF using the switch of tower A.
[7] Reject Tray When feed error occurs, faulty sets are ejected to this tray.
[8] Lifting Unit Transports collated paper to the downstream unit.
[9] Hand Marry Set paper here when feeding paper manually.
Enables manual feed of sets consisting of up to 10 sheets of paper at a time.
[10] Vertical Conveyance Board Conveys the fed paper.
[11] Sub Guide Presses the edge of the paper being conveyed to prevent the paper from ris-
ing.
[7] to [9] are collectively called LUL-HM. These are optional products.

[1] Separating Air Adjustment Adjusts the separating air by changing the position of the shutter.
[2] Paper Guide Presses the edge of the paper to hold the paper in place.
[3] Paper Feed Table Used for loading paper to be collated.
[4] Separating Air Duct Blows out the air for separating paper loaded to the paper feed bin.
[5] Suction Belt Sucks and conveys the paper.
[6] Stack Height Sensor Determines the height of the paper oated by the separating air.
[7] Stack Height Sensor Adjust-
ment
Adjusts the position of the stack height sensor.
[8] Shutter Adjusts the amount of separating air blown out.
[9] Suction Box Shutter Bar Adjusts the range of suction.
[10] Separator Prevents double-feeding of the paper.
[11] Separator Adjusting Knob For adjusting the position of the separator.
In this manual, the function required for feeding paper is generally called paper feed bin.

[4] Auxiliary Stopper Depending on the paper size used, attach one of these to paper receiving

[7] Back Jogger Aligns the trailing edge of ejected collated paper.
[8] Side Gide B Use this as a guide for aligning ejected collated paper.

type of paper and number of sheets used.

[1] Touch Panel Displays information on the machine's state or setting.
Touching the panel changes the displayed information.
[2] Start Key Touching this key for about one second in the stop state starts operations.
When pressed during processing, the machine enters the waiting mode (*).
[3] Stop Key Press this key to stop collating.
Touching the eject key while touching this key turns the paper conveyance motor
in the reverse direction.
Use this function to remove paper jammed in the paper feed unit.
[4] Indication Lamp Indicates states of the machine by lighting or blinking.
Lit in green: Power is ON
Blinking in green: Waiting mode
Lit in orange: The touch panel backlight is OFF(*2)
[5] Eject Key The paper conveyance motor drives while this key is pressed.
Use this key to reject paper which has stopped in the middle of the conveyance
path.
[6] Preset Key Touching this key for about one second collates only one set, and memorizes the
paper feed bin used and paper thickness in the machine.

Area
Displays the value entered with the no. of sets entry key.

sets left to be processed (counted down) from the number of sets entered.
[10] Program Mode This displays the currently selected program mode.
[11] Preset Data Bins that have been preset and are loaded with paper are displayed in orange.
[12] Tower Information Displays the connected states of the towers (A and B), paper ejection direction,
and processing block information.
When the block mode is set to 1/2 or 1/4, touch to change the block starting
operations rst.
[13] Overlap Amount Displays the paper overlap amount of the collated sets.
[14] No. of Sets Entry Key Switches to the No. of processing sets entry menu.

Touching this key switches the display between the number of sets, number of
rejects, and total count.

[16] Raise All Paper Feed Bin Key Raises all paper feed bins. Touching this key halfway through the operation
stops the bins from rising.
[17] Lower All Paper Feed Bin Key Lowers all paper feed bins. Touching this key halfway through the operation
stops the bins from descending.
[18] Air Adjustment Key Displays the air adjustment screen.
[19] Clear Key Clears the number of rejects(*1)or total number of sets(*2).
(*1) Shows the total number of sets ejected out onto the reject tray. Nothing is shown when LUL-HM is con-
nected. Nothing is displayed here when LUL-HM is not connected.
(*2) Shows the total number of sets processed.
