Vanquish Detector Waste Line Quick Installation Guide
This document provides information about the compatibility and installation of the detector
waste line (P/N 6036.2425).
This is a supplementary document to the Operating Manuals for the Vanquish™ Variable
Wavelength, Multiple Wavelength, Fluorescence and Diode Array Detectors.
Observe the safety messages and precautionary statements presented in the respective
Operating Manual.
Compatibility
NOTICE There are two versions of this waste line. One version is compatible with certain flow
cell out ports only. Using an incompatible waste line leads to leaks and may destroy the flow
cell or fitting.
Use the waste lines only as indicated below.
Check the compatibility of your waste line version with the out ports of the flow cell:

Connecting the waste line
1. Connect the waste line to the flow cell outlet (OUT).
2. On the partition panel, route the waste line through the top recess.
3. Route the waste line through the tubing guides of the system modules below the detector
to the Vanquish system base.
4. On the system base, route the detector waste line through the dedicated detector waste
outlet in the base to waste and connect the detector waste line to the waste container as
described in the Vanquish System Operating Manual.
Assembling the waste line if the tubing slips out of the fitting
1. Check that the o-rings are properly positioned inside the fitting.
2. Make sure the tubing end has a clean and evenly cut end. Insert the end of the tubing into
the fitting.
3. To insert the tubing end until stop (at least 1 cm), press the tubing into the fitting while
twisting the fitting.
TIP If you have difficulties inserting the tubing into the fitting, spill one or two drops of
isopropanol onto the end of the tubing to reduce friction and try to insert it again.
TIP If the tubing slips off the fitting several times, consider replacing the waste line.
