Logik LCRAN12 is an easy-to-use clock radio with a variety of features to help you wake up in the morning. It has an FM radio with a tuning control knob, so you can listen to your favorite stations. Safety Warnings
Read all the instructions carefully before using the unit and keep them for
future reference.
Retain the manual. If you pass the unit onto a third party make sure to
include this manual.
Check that the voltage marked on the rating label matches your mains
voltage.
Rating plate is located at the bottom of unit.
Damage
Please inspect the unit for damage after unpacking.
Do not continue to operate the unit if you are in any doubt about it
working normally, or if it is damaged in any way - switch o, withdraw the
mains plug and consult your dealer.
Location of Unit
The unit must be placed on a at stable surface and should not be
subjected to vibrations.
Do not place the unit on sloped or unstable surfaces as the unit may fall
o or tip over.
The mains socket must be located near the unit and should be easily
accessible.
This unit is designed for indoor, household use only.
Temperature
Avoid extreme degrees of temperature, either hot or cold. Place the unit
well away from heat sources such as radiators or gas/electric res.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and other sources of heat.
Naked Flames
Never place any type of candle or naked ame on the top of or near the
unit.
Moisture
To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or product damage, do not
expose this unit to rain, moisture, dripping or splashing. No objects lled
with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the unit. Do not operate
the unit with wet hands, near water or other liquid.
If you spill any liquid into the unit, it can cause serious damage. Switch it
o at the mains immediately. Withdraw the mains plug and consult your
dealer.
Ventilation
To prevent the risk of electric shock or re hazard due to overheating,
ensure that curtains and other materials do not obstruct the ventilation
vents.

Do not install or place this unit in a bookcase, built-in cabinet or in
another conned space. Ensure the unit is well ventilated.
Safety
Always disconnect the unit from the mains supply before connecting/
disconnecting other devices or moving the unit.
Unplug the unit from the mains socket during a lightning storm.
Mains Cable
Make sure the unit or unit stand is not resting on top of the mains cable,
as the weight of the unit may damage the mains cable and create a safety
hazard.
If the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer,
its service agent, or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
The mains plug is used as disconnect device, the disconnect
device shall remain readily operable.
Interference
Do not place the unit on or near appliances which may cause
electromagnetic interference. If you do, it may adversely aect the
operating performance of the unit, and cause a distorted picture or
sound.
Batteries
Batteries used in the unit are easily swallowed by young children and this
is dangerous.
Keep loose batteries away from young children and make sure that
the battery holder tray is secure in the unit. Seek medical advice if you
believe a cell has been swallowed.
Please dispose of batteries correctly by following the guidance in this
manual.
Do not expose the battery to direct sunlight or sources of excessive heat.
Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery
disposal.
Supervision
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
unit and the remote control.
Never let anyone especially children push anything into the holes, slots or
any other openings in the case - this could result in a fatal electric shock.

Service
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove screws. The unit does
not contain any user-serviceable parts. Please leave all maintenance work
to qualied personnel.
Do not open any xed covers as this may expose dangerous voltages.
Maintenance
Ensure to unplug the unit from the power supply before cleaning.
Do not use any type of abrasive pad or abrasive cleaning solutions as
these may damage the unit’s surface.
Do not use liquids to clean the unit.
This equipment is a Class II or double insulated electrical
appliance. It has been designed in such a way that it does not
require a safety connection to electrical earth.
~ AC voltage: This symbol indicates that the rated voltage marked with
the symbol is AC voltage.
DC voltage: This symbol indicates that the rated voltage marked with

Power Source
Mains Power
Connect the mains plug to the mains socket.
Backup Battery Power
1. When the back-up clock battery runs
out, change the battery as soon as
possible.
2. To fit the battery, open the battery
compartment at the rear of the unit.
3. Insert a 9V battery (not included)
ensuring the polarities (+ and – )
match.

Basic Operation
Powering ON/OFF
Switch the ALARM/RADIO OFF/RADIO ON switch to the ON
position to switch the unit on.
Switch the ALARM/RADIO OFF/RADIO ON switch to the OFF
position to switch the unit to STANDBY mode.
Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket if you want to
switch the unit off completely.
Adjusting the Volume
Turn the BUZZ / VOL control to adjust the volume. Turn the control
all the way to VOL position for max volume or to the BUZZ/MUTE
position to mute the radio.
Handling the Batteries
Improper or incorrect use of batteries may cause corrosion or
battery leakage, which could cause fire, personal injury or damage
to property.
Install the batteries correctly by following the polarity (+ and –)
indications in the battery compartment.
Use only the types of the batteries which are indicated in this
manual.
Do not install new batteries with used ones and do not mix
different types of batteries.
Do not dispose of the used batteries as domestic waste. Dispose of
them in accordance with local regulations.
Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
Disposal of a battery into fire or a hot oven, or mechanically
crushing or cutting of a battery, that can result in an
explosion.
Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature
surrounding environment that can result in an explosion
or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
A battery subjected to extremely low air pressure that may
result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or
gas.

Setting the Clock
When you first connect the unit to the mains socket, the unit will be
in STANDBY mode. The clock is displayed in 12 hour format and the
display will show “12 : 00” when the unit is powered on.
1. To set the clock, press and hold the TIME button.
2. While still holding the TIME button, use the HOUR and MIN
buttons to adjust the time. Press the TIME and HOUR buttons to
adjust the time one step at a time, or press and hold to scroll more
quickly
3. Once adjusted, release the TIME button to set the time.
Setting the Alarm
1. To set the alarm time, press and hold the
ALARM button.
2. While still holding the ALARM button, press
the TIME and HOUR buttons to adjust the
time one step at a time or hold to scroll more
quickly.
3. Once adjusted release the ALARM button to
set the time of the alarm.
4. For a buzzer alarm, turn the BUZZ/MUTE/
VOL control wheel to the BUZZ position, it
will click. For a radio alarm tune the desired
station (see radio reception on the next page)
and set the desired volume with the BUZZ/
MUTE/VOL control.
5. To turn the alarm on, adjust the ALARM/
RADIO OFF/RADIO ON switch to the ALARM
position. The ALARM light on the front panel
will be lit to show the alarm is set. The alarm
will now sound at the set time.
6. To cancel the alarm adjust the ALARM/RADIO
OFF/RADIO ON switch to the RADIO OFF
position.
After setting the alarm, you can press and hold the
ALARM button to view the alarm time.

Radio Reception
1. Adjust the ALARM/RADIO OFF/RADIO ON
selector to the RADIO ON position:
2. Switch the AM/FM selector to the desired
mode (AM / FM).
TUNING
Snooze Function
Press the SNOOZE button when the RADIO or BUZZER sounds. The
alarm will go off and will then sound again around 8 minutes later. The
snooze function will continue for 2 hours from the set alarm time.
To turn off the alarm, move the ALARM/RADIO OFF/RADIO ON
selector to the OFF position.
Setting the Sleep Timer
This function automatically switches the unit to STANDBY mode after
the preset time has elapsed. By setting the sleep timer, you can fall
asleep to music and know that your system will turn off by itself rather
than play all night.
1. Adjust the ALARM/RADIO OFF/RADIO ON selector to the ALARM
position:
2. To adjust the hour/minute digits, press and hold the SLEEP button.
At the same time:
(a) press and hold the HOUR or MIN buttons; or
(b) repeatedly press the HOUR or MIN buttons.
3. To confirm the sleep time, release all the buttons.
The time begins to count down from the preset time. (The sleep
timer can be set up to a maximum of 1 hour and 59 minutes later.)
To send the unit to sleep before the set sleep time, press the
SNOOZE button.

Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit
Ensure the unit is fully unplugged from the mains
socket before cleaning.
To clean the unit, wipe the case with a slightly moist, lint-free
cloth.
Do not use any cleaning fluids containing alcohol, ammonia or
abrasives.
Do not spray an aerosol at or near the unit.
For Better Reception
FM: Fully unwind and extend the FM aerial. Then position the aerial
to obtain optimum reception.
Do not connect the FM aerial to an outside aerial.
AM: Reposition the unit to obtain optimum AM reception.
Hints and Tips
Problem Solution
Poor FM reception
Make sure FM aerial is fully extended.
Electrical interference in your home can
cause poor reception. Move the unit
away from them (especially those with
motors and transformers).
Poor AM reception
Rotate the unit horizontally until
orientation with best reception is found.
