Guarantee and Compensation
Barco provides a guarantee relating to perfect man ufacturing as part of the legally stipulated terms of guarantee. On receipt, the purchaser
must immediately inspect all delivered goods for dam age inc urred during transport, a s well as for material and manufacturing faults Barco
must be informed immediately in writing of any complaints.
The period of gu arantee begins on the date of transfer of risks, in the case of special systems and software on the date of comm issioning,
at latest 30 days after the transfer of risks. In the event of justied notice of com plaint, Barco can repair the fault or provide a replacement
at its own discretion within an appropriate period. If this measure proves to be impossible or unsuccessful, the purchaser can demand a
reduction in the purchase price or c ancellation of the contract. All other claim s, in par ticular those relating to com pensa tion for direct or
indirectdamage, andalsodamage attributed to the operationof s oftware as well as to other servicesprovided by Barco, being a component
of the system or independent service, willbe deemed invalid providedthe dam age is n ot pro ven to be attributedtothe absence of properties
guaranteed in writing or due to the intent or gross negligence or part of Bar co.
If the purchaser or a third party carries out modications or repairs on go ods delivered by B arco, or if the goods are ha ndled inc orrectly,
in particular if the systems are com missioned operated incorrectly or if, after the transfer of risks, the goods are subject to inuences not
agreed upon in the contract, all guarantee claims of the purchaser will be rendered invalid. Not included in the guarantee coverage a re
system failures which are attributed to programs or special electronic circuitry pr ovided by the purchaser, e.g. interfaces. Normal wear as
well as normal maintenance a re not subject to the guara ntee provided by Bar co either.
The environmental conditions as well as the servicing and m
aintenance regulations s pecied in the this m anual m ust be complied with by
the customer.

1.1 Introduction
Introduction of the T-20 rental display
The Barco T -20 rental display is a new generation modular outdoor display that delivers full color images with unequalled brightness
and contrast lev els. With its 20 mm pitch, ultra bright, 6000 Nit output and rugge d IP65 rating at t he front and IP54 rating at the b ack,
the T-20 is the perfect produ ct for all outdoor applications with large viewing distance s. Use this manual to explore the physical
possibilities of the T-20 rental tiles and for optimal performance of your LED wall. Keep this manual as reference book. Following
all procedures and recommendations in this m anual will impr ove the life span of your T -20 rental display.
Purpose of the T-20 tiles
The T-20 tiles and T-20 truss beams are exclusively designed to build an outdoor Barco T-20 rental display in a suspended co n-
guration. At modication of the use aim the validity of the CE m arking expires. Possibly Bar co can inves tigate, on request of the
customer, what must bec ome done to preserve the C E marking.

Read this chap ter a ttentively. It contains im portant information to preve nt personal injury while installing the T-20 rental display.
Furthermore, it includes several cautions to prevent damage to the T-20 ren tal t ile. E nsure that you u nderstand and follow all safety
guidelines, safety instructions and warnings mentioned in this chapter before installing the T-20 rental display. After this chapter,
additional “warnings” and “cautions” are given depending on the installation procedure. Read and follow these “warnings” and “cau-
tions” as well.

2.1 Safety guidelines
Personal protection
WARNING: Ensure you understand and follow all the safety guidelines, safety instructions, warnings and
cautions mentioned in this manual.
WARNING: Be aware of suspended loads.
WARNING: Wear a hard hat to reduce the risk of personal injury.
WARNING: Be careful while working with heavy loads.
WARNING: Mind your ngers while working with heavy loads.
Installation personnel
This installation must be per formed by au thorized and qualied technical personnel only.
Accredited safety ofcers must ensure the safety of the site, construction, assembly, connection, use, dismantling, transport etc. of
such saf e ty crit ical systems.
Caution
Installationshould be performed on ly aftery ou are thoroughlyfamiliar with all of the proper safety checks and installation instructions.
To do otherwise increases the risk of hazards and injury to the us er.
Assembly parts are designed for intended use only in conjunction with T-20 LED displays.
Do not m odify and/or replicate any component. Barco uses specic materials and manufacturing processes in order to achieve part
strength. Consult Barco for assistance with custom applications.
Always follow B arco installation ins tructions. Cont
act Barco if you should have any question regarding the safety of an application.
The manufacturer assumes no liability for incorrect, inadequate, irresponsible or unsafe assembly of systems.
Product care
Structural & mounting components should be kep t dry, c lean, lubricated (only if recomm ended), coated properly, and otherwise
maintained in a m anner consistent with part design. Barco produc ts m u st be used in a manner consistent with their design and
inspected on a ro utine basis for security, wear,deformation, corrosion and any other circumstances that may affectthe load handling
capability of the part.
Barco recommends inspections at regular intervals fo r all installations and increasing in frequency for more c ritical installations. If
a part is found to have damage, w hich m ay cause a de crease in load capability, the part must be rem oved for service o r replaced
immediately.
Under n o circumstances are Barco parts repairable by anyone other than B arco.

Clean only with materials or chemicals that are inert, nonabrasive, noncorrosive and non-marking. Consult the manufacturer
for f urther advice should any doubts exist regarding any cleaning procedure.
Do not bloc k ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
Do not install near any heat sources s uch as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including ampliers) that
produce heat.
Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding type plugs/sockets. If the provided sockets/plugs are damaged
then replacement of the defective parts must be undertaken immediately.
Protect the power/data cords from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, an d the point
where t hey exit from the apparatus. Replac e damaged power/data c ords immediately.
Only use attachments/accessories s pecied by the manufacturer.
Disconnect the pow er to this apparatus during lightning storms or provide suitable additional lightning p rotection. Unplug this
apparatus when unused for long period of time.
Refer all servicing to qualied service technicians/personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been dam aged in
any way, suc h as power-supply cord or plug is damage d, the apparatus d oes not operate normally, or has been dropped.
Use only with systems or p eripherals specied by the m anufacturer, orsold with theapparatus. Use c aution during lifting/moving
or transporting to a void damage by possible tipping.

2.3 Important warnings
Important warnings:
Risk of electric shock:
Do not open. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back). No use r-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing
to qua lied service personnel.
Maximum and minimum ambient temperature:
The maximum ambient tem perature for the LED wall is 50 °C, the minimum temperature is -35 °C.
High leakage current:
The com bination of multiple tiles in an installation results in increased levels of leakage c urrent. In order to avoid risk of electric
shock due to high leakage c urrent, proper grounding of the installation is required.
Flammable materials:
Keep ammable materials away from the installation (such as curtains). A lot of energy is transferred into heat. The installation
should be such that the am ount of air ow required for safe operation of the equipment is not compromised. Proper ventilation m ust
be provided.
Risk of electric shock / Risk of re:
To protect against risk of re caused by overloading of power cables, M AX IMUM six (6) tiles may b e connected in parallel. Each
power source cable supplying m axim um six (6) tiles should be protected by a circuit breaker or fuses rated 16 A / 250 VAC (15 A /
250 VAC in the USA and Canada). Note that one T-20 tile requires 200-240 VAC, 5 0-60 Hz, 1.56 amps at 230 VAC.
Mechanical stress:
Use the T-20 rental tiles in a hanging conguration only. M aximum allowed T-20 display height is 10 tiles high. Never truss more
than 10 tiles high.
Disconnect device:
When the appliance inlets of the individual tiles are n ot accessible, the socket outlets s upplying the rack shall be installed near the
equipment and be easily ac cessible, or a readily a cces sible gen eral disconnect device shall be incorporated in the xed wiring.
This equipment MUST be earthed:
In order to protect ag ainst risk of electric shock, the installation should be p roperly grounded. Defeating the purpose of the grounding
type plug will expose you to the risk o f elec tric shock.
Power system:
It is recommended to use a TN -S power distributio n system (a power distribution system with a separate neutral and grounding
conductor) in order to avoid large groun d current loops du e to voltage differences in the n eutral c onductor. The total electrical
installation should be protectedby an appropriately rateddisconnect switch, circuitbreakers, over voltageprotectorand G round Fault
Current Interrupters. T he installation shall be done according to the local electrical installation codes. In Europe s pecial attention
should be g iven to EN 60364, the standard for electrical installation of buildings. In G ermany VDE 0100 should be adhered to. In
America, special atte ntion should be given to t he National Electrical Code, ANS I/NFPA 70.
Mains cords:
The pow er cords de livered with this system have special properties for safety. They are no t user serviceable. If the po w er cords are
damaged, replace them only with new ones. Nev er try to repair a power cord.
Data cables:
The data cables provided with this sy stem have special properties for safety. They are not user serviceable. If the data cables a re
damaged, replace them only with new ones . Never try to repair a data c able. Per requirements of the National Electrical Code®
in the US A , t he length of a data cab le must not exceed 42 m (140 feet). Avoid exposure of data cables to accidental contact with
lightning or power conductors.

2.4 Proper usage
Proper usage of T-20 tiles
No part of the T-20 tile can com e in contact with any type of abrasive.
No part of the T-20 tile can come in c ontact with any type of corrosive substance.
T-20 tiles are to be used in environments meeting the op erating specications.
T-20 tiles are no t to be exposed to extreme localized heat or cold exce eding the tem perature s pecica tions.
T-20 tiles are not to be exposed to any element or situation that will cause any pa rt of the display to heat beyond what o ccurs
during normal operation. Such situations include but are not limited to lasers, ultrasonic vibration, or any type of substance that
prevents proper ventilation and heat radiation of the T-20 tiles.
Power c onnected to the T-20 tiles mus t meet the specications outlined in the installation manual.
Neverplace an T-20 tileupon a surfacewiththe LED’sfacing downwards. This topreventdamage tothe LED’sand the sh aders.
T-20 tiles which are not installed and which are not securely stored in an T-20 ight case, m ay only be placed vertically upon
at surfaces free of clutter.
No force can be applied t o the LED ’s. Any LED ’s dam aged due to mechanical stress are not covered by the warranty.
Safety and functional features of the display cannot be defeated.
It is not allowed to climb or hang any additional equipment on the back of an T-20 wall. Nothing is to be allowed to hang from
the cables of a n T-20 tile.
Any failures must be imm ediately and appropriately dealt with (equipment returned to B arco?). Failing eq uipment cannot be
left t o r un in a wall.
No additional tools (h amm ers, pr y-bars, etc.) are to be used to force handles or locks into place . All moving parts should be
managed by hand. Only a 8 mm Allen wrench may be used.
Only Barco cables s pecied to be used with the T-20 display are to be used to connect componen ts in an T -20 wall. Further,
care must be ta ken to con nect signal only acco rding to the installation manual.
T-20 tiles are not to be used in the vicinity of any equipment that is not CE and UL /ETL certied.
T-20 tiles are not to be transported for an y distance in containers other than Barco T-20 ight cases or Barc o T-20 dollies or
T-20 single unit packaging. Further, even the use of Barco ight cases, dollies or packaging material does not g uarantee the
T-20 tiles aga inst dam age due to excessive force of impacts.
T-20 tiles are not to be connected to any non-Barco eq uipment.
When hanging T -20 tiles, only B arco T-20 trusses can be used and they m ust be installed and connected a ccording to the
manual. Improper hanging of T-20 tiles can result in excessive forces on the structural
components of theT-20 tiles.
T-20 tiles are only t o be installed v ertically. Any tilting o f a display will cause undue stress on the structural components of the
T-20 tiles.
T-20 tiles can be trussed up to 10 tiles high. Never truss m ore than 10 tiles high.
T-20 tiles can be cleaned only in accordance to the procedures dened in the installation manual.
The T -20 tile is equ ipped with two high density air lters. T hese lters must be replaced on a regular basis, depending o n the
environment conditions o f the tile. It is recom mended to replace the lt
ers every 6 m onths.

2.5 Important warnings concerning T-20 ight cases and dollies
Important warnings concerning T-20 ight cases and dollies
Always us e a forklift to transport the T-20 dolly. The castor w heels of the T-20 dolly may only be used to reposition the T-20
dolly locally on the events oor (E.g. to line up the T -20 dollies).
Before using T-20 ight cases or dollies, chec k the wheels and their xation screws for wea r or defects.
Before transporting T-20 ight c ases or T-20 dollies, check that the all lock handles are in good working order and locked
secure ly.
Before transporting T-2 0 dollies, check that the T-20 tiles are securely lock ed into the base of the T-20 dollies and upon each
other.
Never transport T-20 dollies unless they are completely empty or fully loaded.
Never transport T-20 dollies w ithout all side panels and top cov er installed.
Never stack T-20 dollies.
Never transport more then twelve T-20 tiles upon one dolly.
Use an appropriate forklift to raise T-20 ight cases or T -20 dollies and take the necessary precautions to avoid personal injury.
Surface on which T -20 ight case or T-20 dolly is standing mus t be level to ensure that the total load is evenly spread o
ut among
the four wheels. The surface must also be able to support the load safely.
The T-20 rental ight case for the T-20 single and dual truss beams can be stacked maximum two (2) high. N ever higher. When
stacked, make s ure the wheels of the upper ight case are precisely pos itioned in the stacking dishe s of the ight case below.
Always rigidly strap the T-20 ight cas es and T-20 dollies in a truck or other transport medium .
Do not use the breaks of the T-20 ight cases and T- 20 dollies in a truc k or other transport m edium.

3.1 Mechanical requirements for the T-20 rental display
Weight
Do not underestimate the w eight of a complete T-20 rental display. Be sure the truss installation on which the T-20 r ental dis play
has to be installed is capable of handling ve (5) times the complete load of the display. Note that one T-20 rental tile weights
approximately 60 k g (or 66 kg per sq uare meter installed display).
Leveled surface
The surface b elow the truss installation on which the T-20 dollies and/or ight cases have to be b rought must be at and leveled.
Futhermore, the s urface mus t be strong enough to handle the weight of all loaded dollies and ight cases upon the su rface during
the set up an d tear down of the T-20 rental display.
WARNING: Do not use the T-20 rental tiles in a base stand conguration. The T-20 rental tiles are designed
for hanging congurations only.

3.2 Electrical requirements for the T-20 rental display
Power requirements
One T-20 ren tal tile requires 200- 240 VA C, 50-60 Hz, 1.56 amps at 230 VAC. Note that one T-20 rental tile c orrespond w ith a
display surface of 0,9216 m². Power link cables are used to link the power from tile to tile. H owever, MAXIMUM six (6) tiles may
be connected in parallel. So, one power s ource cable has to be provided per six (6) tiles. Every pow er source cable should b e
protected by a circuit breaker or fuses rated 16 A / 250 VAC (15 A / 250 VAC in the USA and Canada).

Before you begin
Is assumed you are familiar with the W indows operating system at your site.
The CD-ROM in your package contains a Windows- based installation program . You can install the software from the CD-ROM.
