1 Mounting
Typiclly, the module is supplied mounted
directly in RF Concentrtor or similr
equipment.
Exmple of mounting in RF Concentrtor
2 Connection
The IP module hs no built-in encryption, nd therefore it should lwys be plced behind  firewll
or NAT (Network Address Trnsltion).
3 Configurtion
The IP201 module is lwys supplied configured with either defult IP settings or custom IP
settings. These settings cn be chnged subsequently by using IP Tool, which cn be obtined by
contcting Kmstrup.
It is possible to use either dynmic or sttic IP ddresses, nd it is possible to order with the
following settings:
Dynmic IP ddress (DCHP):
Host server nme (the DNS name or IP address of the server to which the unit must report back).
Sttic IP ddress:
IP ddress, subnet, gtewy (network settings of the module).
Host server (the IP address of the server to which the device must report back).

4 Ethernet connection
The Ethernet connection on IP201consists of  stndrd 4-pole screw terminl.
The terminl is connected ccording to the below tble for connection to hub, switch or router, etc.:
Terminl no. T-568B colour code Signl MCU

5 Instlltion
When supply hs been estblished, the Err nd Wink diodes re lit to indicte tht the module is
switched on. The Link diode lights/flshes if the RJ45 cble is mounted (communiction on the
network is indicted by flshes).
During strt-up, the Err nd Wink diodes re used for controlling the stte of the module:
1 Err nd Wink emit light constntly: The module hs just strted.
2 The Wink diode turns off when the module hs estblished connection to the network (vlid IP).
3 The Err diode strts flshing when the host is recognised (meter or concentrtor hve been
detected).
4 The Err diode turns off when the module hs been registered by the collecting server.
If the module cnnot connect to the meter nd/or server, IP201 will restrt.

7 Sttus LEDs
The module hs  number of light-emitting diodes. They re used for indicting the sttus nd
service.
7.1 Action
The Action diode indictes network ctivity. During norml opertion, this diode lights/flshes.
Turned off: The module does not connect to the network. Check tht the cble is
connected correctly.
Flshing: Dt is detected on the network. (the fster the flshing, the more trffic).
Stedy light: The module is connected, but there is no trffic on the network.
7.2 Wink
The Wink diode is used for indicting the module’s conditions in three situtions:
Strt-up: The Wink diode is lit until  vlid IP ddress is found.
Locliztion: The Wink diode flshes.
Service: By pressing the service button, the Wink diode is lit. The Wink diode is lit while
the module is in service mode.
7.3 Err
The Err diode is used for indicting irregulrities.
Stedy light: The module hs just strted nd is witing for n IP ddress.
Flshing: The module hs not yet recognised the unit in which it is mounted (the host)
Turned off: Norml sitution.

7.4 The service button
The service button is used by Kmstrup in connection with service nd reprogrmming of the
module.
8 Port B
Port B is  seril (RS232/Kmstrup 3-wire) connection tht cn be used for connecting dditionl
externl equipment.
