3. The Total Access 4303 SCU automatically detects the presence of the module. No
need to reboot.
4. Once installed, use the terminal menus to configure and control the Octal DSX-1
Module. For more information, refer to the SCU Job Aid.
5. Use the arrow keys on the VT100 terminal keyboard to move to the
Modules menu,
and press
ENTER in the Menu column of the appropriate module.

COMPLIANCE
The Total Access 4303 Octal DSX-1 Module is NRTL listed to the applicable UL
standards. The Octal DSX-1 Module is to be installed in a restricted access location and
in a Type “B” or “E” enclosure only.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the
following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2)
this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause
undesired operation.

After unpacking the Total Access
®
4303 Octal DSX-1 Module, inspect it for damage. If
damage has occurred, file a claim with the carrier, then contact ADTRAN Customer
Service.

install the Octal DSX-1 Module
, perform the following steps:
NOTE: Hot insertion of the Octal DSX-1 Module is permissible.
1. Insert the Octal DSX-1 Module into the desired slot labeled
1 through 16.
2. The Octal DSX-1 Module connects to a pair of 64-pin amphenol connectors on the
Total Access 4303 backplane (see table below).
