SlopeOperation
Slopesareamajorfactorrelatedtoloss-of-controland
tip-overaccidents,whichcanresultinsevereinjuryordeath.
Allslopesrequireextracaution.
•Donotoperatethemachineonhillsidesorslopes
exceedingtheanglesrecommendedonStabilityData
(page7),andthoseintheattachmentOperator'sManual.

•Operatethemachineupanddownslopeswiththe
heavyendofthemachineuphill.Weightdistribution
changes.Anemptybucketmakestherearofthemachine
theheavyend,andafullbucketmakesthefrontofthe
machinetheheavyend.Mostotherattachmentsmakethe
frontofmachinetheheavyend.
•Raisingtheloaderarmsonaslopeaffectsthestabilityof
themachine.Wheneverpossible,keeptheloaderarmsin
theloweredpositionwhenonslopes.
•Donotremoveoraddattachmentsonaslope.
•Removeobstaclessuchasrocks,treelimbs,etc.fromthe
workarea.Watchforholes,ruts,orbumps,asuneven

makesuddenchangesinspeedordirection.
•Avoidstartingorstoppingonaslope.Ifthemachine
losestraction,proceedslowly,straightdowntheslope.
