Subject: FRP250 Flavor Shot & Selectable Ice ADA Retrofit
These instructions are for installations with this option and cover
the external ADA key pad boxes for the Flavor Shots & Selectable
Ice features.
TOOLS REQUIRED
• Phillips Head Screwdriver
• Flat Blade Screwdriver
INSTALLATION
1. Remove power from the unit.
Merchandiser & Control Board Cover Removal
2. Loosen the two knurled fasteners located in the top of the
merchandiser that hold the merchandiser in place.
3. Remove the merchandiser by lifting up and tilting forward.
4. Loosen the 3 phillips head screws that hold the control board cover
in place enough that the cover can be removed, one (1) in the top
center and two (2) on the bottom.
Splash Panel Removal
5. Remove the splash panel from the unit by removing the two (2)
phillips head screws holding it in place.
NOTE: If the splash panel already has ADA key pads they are sealed to
the ribbon cables and connected to the control board, gently lay the splash
panel in front of the unit being careful not to damage the cables.
Flavor Shot Key Pads
6. Left and right side flavor shot key pads; trace and disconnect the
ribbon cable from their respective control board. (See Figure 1)
7. Remove the existing flavor shot key pads from the key pad area, a
flat blade screw driver may be used to pry the adhesive loose.
8. Install the new key pads by exposing the adhesive backing and
inserting the aligning pins into the key pad area where the previous
pad was removed. (See Figure 2)
9. Route the key pad ribbons to their corresponding control board and
connect using the middle connector, the end connector will be used
to connect to the ADA harness. (See Figure 3)

ADA Wire Harness
NOTE: The flavor shot connectors on the ADA harness have to be
connected to the correct side. The smaller middle 3 pin connector is
only used with Selectable Ice ADA. (See Figure 3)
10. Connect the left flavor shot ribbon cable end connector to the
shorter of the two (2) five (5) pin connectors on the ADA harness.
11. Connect the right flavor shot ribbon cable end connector to the
longer of the two (2) five (5) pin connectors on the ADA harness.
12. Bundle up the harness wires neatly and clip them to the grey
wiring channel cover using the provided adhesive clip to keep
them out of the way of any moving parts. (See Figure 6)
Route ADA Box Wiring
13. Route the ADA Box ribbon cable under the drain pan. (See Figure 5)
14. Continue routing the ADA Box cable behind the valve mount cap
on the left hand side of the unit.
15. Connect the ADA Box ribbon cable to the ADA wire harness that
was clipped to the wiring channel cover in Step 12. (See Figure 6)
16. Neatly tuck in and take up any slack remaining in the ADA ribbon
cable so it will not be in the way of any moving parts or panels
when they are placed back on the unit. (See Figure 7)
Drain Pan & ADA Key Pad Box
17. Attach the drain pan to the unit.
18. Center the ADA Key Pad Box with the unit in front of the drain pan
and secure into place. (See Figure 7 & 8)
19. Apply corresponding drink labels to the ADA key pads.
NOTE: If buttons are not used they will be blanked out. The Cubed/
Crushed buttons are only utilized on units configured with the Selectable
Ice feature and are controlled through the same wire harness.

Important
If mounting the ADA Box directly in front of the drain pan
on the counter top leave a minimum of 1 inch space
between the bottom edge of the drain pan and the ADA
Box to allow space for drain pan removal.

ADA Key Pad Matrix
ADA key pads on units with this option are
located on both the right & left hand sides of
the splash panel for handicapped accessibility
to drink flavors. Units configured with the
Selectable Ice feature and/or Flavor Shots will
have a box located in front of the unit for
accessibility to these functions.
The ADA key pads are configured to mimic
the function of the main key pads on the left
and right sides of the unit located above the
dispense nozzles.
ADA 1 = Nozzle 1 (N1)
ADA 2 = Nozzle 3 (N3)
ADA 3 = Nozzle 4 (N4)
ADA 4 = Nozzle 6 (N6)
ADA 5 = Nozzle 2 (N2)
ADA 6 = Nozzle 5 (N5)
ADA 7 = Selectable Ice (Cubed / Crushed)

Finish Installation
20. If the unit is already brixed put the control board
cover, splash panel and merchandiser back onto
the unit and reinstall the screws that hold them in
place. If brixing needs to be completed

21. Restore power to the unit.
