Multiplex Beverage Equipment Installation Instructions for
Thermostat Relay Kit for
Beermaster Model 150 Glycol Chiller

Introduction
The high amperage load across the contacts of the thermo-
stat in the Multiplex Model Beermaster 150 Glycol Chiller
coupled with the high ambient conductors, may cause burning
of contact points on the thermostat. This relay removes the
load from the thermostat so that the burning will not occur.

One (1) 11" White Wire (P.N. 00208613)
One (1) 9" Brown Wire (P.N. 00207088)
One (1) 8" Black Wire (P.N. 00211685)
Plastic Bushing (P.N. 00800501)
No. 8 Screw (P.N. 00850428)
Three (3) Plastic Ties (P.N. 00855700)
Terminal (P.N. 00803448)
Removing the old thermostat relay
1. Turn “off” power to unit and all control switches on unit.
2. Remove access cover from Switch/Control Box and remove
cover from thermostat.
3. Disconnect wires from thermostat. Cut fork terminal from
compressor lead wire; strip and attach
1
/4" quick discon-
nect terminal.
4. Remove Thermostat Control Capillary from plastic mount
attached to evaporator. Remove two (2) screws securing
Control to Switch Box and remove Control.
Installing the new thermostat relay
1. Attach new Thermostat Control to outside of Switch Box
using same mounting holes and installing screws from in-
side of box.
Note: Control knob should be facing switch end of box.
2. Insert plastic bushing in hole in rear of box. Route capil-
lary through hole in end of Switch Box and secure to plas-
tic mount with plastic ties.
3. Install the Thermal Relay. Mounting holes for the thermal
relay are directly above the terminal block. Holding the
Thermal Relay with the base tab to the lower left and the
base hole to the upper right, the tab will slip into a hole
on the lower left. Secure the relay with a No. 8 screw
through the upper right hole.
4. Connect black wire from refrigeration switch to No. 2 ter-
minal on thermostat.
Note: Terminal numbers are on plastic block next to termi-
nal.
5. Connect brown wire from thermal relay to No. 3 terminal
on thermostat.
6. Connect black wire from compressor No. 2 to thermal re-
lay. This is the same wire modified in step 3 above.
7. Connect black wire from terminal No. 1 on thermal relay
to upper “live” terminal bank on terminal block.
8. Connect white wire from thermal relay to lower “neutral
terminal bank on terminal block.
9. Replace covers, turn power “on”, and turn control
switches “on”.

Equipment Installation Instructions
Caution: To Avoid Serious Injury
Important: Read the following warnings before beginning an installation. Failure to do so
may result in possible death or serious injury.
DO Adhere to all National and Local Plumbing and Electrical Safety Codes.
DO Turn “off” incoming electrical service switches when servicing, installing, or
repairing equipment.
DO Check that all flare fittings on the carbonation tank(s) are tight. This check
should be performed with a wrench to ensure a quality seal.
DO Inspect pressure on Regulators before starting up equipment.
DO Protect eyes when working around refrigerants.
DO Use caution when handling metal surface edges of all equipment.
DO Handle CO
2 cylinders and gauges with care. Secure cylinders properly against
abrasion.
DO Store CO2 cylinder(s) in well ventilated areas.
DO NOT Throw or drop a CO2 cylinder. Secure the cylinder(s) in an upright position
with a chain.
DO NOT Connect the CO2 cylinder(s) directly to the product container. Doing so will
result in an explosion causing possible death or injury. Best to connect the
CO2 cylinder(s) to a regulator(s).
DO NOT Store CO2 cylinders in temperature above 125°F (51.7°C) near furnaces,
radiator or sources of heat.
DO NOT Release CO2 gas from old cylinder.
DO NOT Touch Refrigeration lines inside units, some may exceed temperatures of
200°F (93.3°C).
Notice: Water pipe connections and fixtures directly connected to a potable water supply
shall be sized, installed and maintained in accordance with Federal, State, and Local codes.
