CREATING SITES and
WIRELESS ROOMS
10
The optimal and recommended way to set up your wireless system is through sites. Sites allows for viewing of all available sites and
the creation of new sites. Site details can also be viewed and edited. Recently visited sites are accessible directly from the home
dashboard. By setting the structure for each site through areas and rooms, you can connect devices directly to those rooms for
organization, edit device parameters and sequence of operations. This diagram shows the steps you will take to establish wireless
DLM room networks through the sites option.
SITES AND WIRELESS ROOM OVERVIEW
SITES
Establish a site with a name and
location. Add contact information and
code compliance for a complete site
prole.
Repeat for multiple sites.
Within the dashboard, tap the sites
icon to view and edit the site structure
through areas and rooms.
SET UP AREAS AND ROOMS
Structure the site by establishing areas
and rooms in a tree structure. This
allows for zone control of devices and
scenes.
Obtain more detailed information like
light load average and room status
through the room view. Toggle between
device and room view by tapping the
desired icon.
ASSIGN DEVICES
Assign devices to established areas
and create rooms. View awake status
and connectivity strength through
device tiles.
CREATE ROOM NETWORK
Create a secured room network by
pairing devices to a room controller.
Changes are automatically updated to the
Legrand secure cloud.
SET PARAMETERS and
SEQUENCE of OPERATIONS
(SoO)

through the app. The site owner can call the service center to
have a site removed from the account. 1.888.538.6070

DEVICE AND ROOM VIEWS
Structuring the site through areas and rooms is the optimal organization method for devices. By preparing your site under this format,
you can efficiently assign devices and control lighting parameters. This overview will help you understand the tree structure of areas in
the DLM Config app.
Under the root building, add areas according to desired site set up. You can add more areas under the original area. Once you have
added hardware to an area, it becomes a room and no more areas can be added under it. An area has the ability to become a split
room where you can divide the area into sub-rooms with individualized control. The original room now becomes an area again once
it hosts sub rooms. NOTE: You cannot add areas below a sub room. However, you can nest an area for multiple layers.

via ladder.
18
2. At a quick glance, you can see the number of devices

allow you to see what is on the network and adjust device parameters (if permissions allow). The Default Network will be visible if
there are devices in range that are not currently assigned to a specic network. To see all devices regardless of which network they
are on, select All Devices. All devices that are paired to this site are visible through networks. To view unsecured networks alongside
your secured networks, select “Unsecured” from the lter menu.

descending, by signal, MAC address, or network. To search for
a specic MAC address, enter the address in the upper right
search eld.
DISCOVERING NETWORKS AND DEVICES (continued)
1. On the Networks page, tap the Add Network + button in the
bottom right of the screen. Tap Create new network from the
options.
2. Select the room controller which will support the network.
CREATING A NEW NETWORK THROUGH THE NETWORKS VIEW
There are two ways to create a new network: 1. Through the Networks view and 2. Through a Room Controller (see pages 20-21).
Creating through the Networks view is the suggested method.
20
3. Select the device(s) you want to add to the network by
