People with health problems or under the inuence of medicaon,
drugs, alcohol or exhauson must not operate this device.
The Pellet Press may only be operated by authorised persons and serv-
iced or repaired by trained specialists. All commissioning, maintenance
and repair work may only be carried out by technically qualied per-
sonnel. Qualied personnel are persons who, because of their educaon,
experience and training as well as their knowledge of relevant standards,
regulaons, accident prevenon guidelines and operang condions, are
authorised by those responsible for the safety of the machine to carry
out the required work and are able to recognize and avoid possible haz-
ards as dened for skilled workers in IEC 364.
In order to prevent hazards to users, follow the instrucons in this
manual.
Malfuncons that impair the safety of persons, the Pellet Press or other
material property must be reced immediately. The following informa-
on serves both the personal safety of operang personnel as well as the
safety of the products described and any devices connected to them: All

2.2.1 Operang principle
The pellet press is a manually-operated hydraulic press. The device is
ed with a piston pump. This has a sucon and pressure valve, a pres-
sure liming and stop valve. The pressure liming valve is set for a max-
imum oil pressure of 350 bar, and may not be adjusted. The stop valve
must be closed before the pressing process. The hydraulic oil is kept in an
oil reservoir. This is closed o using a locking screw (9) with an integrated
vent screw. The screw is used for lling and automac venng of the oil
reservoir. It prevents a vacuum being created inside. The locking screw
(9) is protected by a plasc ring. The workspace is surrounded by a Plexi-
glas jacket. There is a door with handle at the front of the jacket. The
pressure cylinder piston (6) is located in the centre of the workspace. It is
protected by a pressure plate. A spindle (4) with hand wheel (3) is used
to create the counterpressure and to clamp the pressing tool. A pressure
gauge (7), which displays the pressure during the pressing process, is
located at the front of the housing.
2.3 Obligaons of the operator
Before using the Pellet Press, this manual is to be carefully read and
understood. The use of the Pellet Press requires technical knowledge;
only commercial use is permied.
The operang personnel must be familiar with the content of the oper-
ang manual. For this reason, it is very important that these persons
actually receive the present operang manual. Ensure that the operang
manual is always near the device.
The Pellet Press may exclusively be used within the scope of applicaons
set down in this manual and within the framework of guidelines put forth
