Hardware
Intel Server Control (ISC) Errors
The first time you run Intel Server Control (ISC) after installation, you may see DMI indications
and SNMP traps. The first time ISC runs, it processes all messages in the System Event Log,
regardless of the date and time an event happened, and generates DMI indications. If SNMP
services are enabled, ISC will also generate an SNMP trap for each indication. After the System
Event Log has been processed once, only new entries generate DMI indications and SNMP traps.
Some DMI indications and SNMP traps may report critical status or failure of some hardware
components. If you are running ISC for the first time, you may safely ignore these indications and
traps. They are caused by events recorded in the System Event log during a period when ISC is
initializing for the first time and is unable to report accurate status. You may want to confirm that
all components are working correctly by examining the System Event Log for Informational
messages stating that the failing components have returned to a functioning state. You may also
want to clear the System Event Log.
After you run ISC for the first time, you should investigate as legitimate errors any DMI
indications or SNMP traps that are generated.
For more information, refer to
DOCS\README.TXT in the directory in which you installed ISC.

Rebuilding System Software with SYSBUILDER and the System CD
If your system was delivered with a SYSBUILDER diskette, you can use it and the System CD to
rebuild system software. Follow the instructions provided with the System CD to reinstall the
operating system and associated system software. The System CD’s instructions replace the
operating system installation instructions in your system’s documentation.
