Remove all packaging from DVD Player. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it please do so
according to local regulations.

Battery Installation for the Remote Control
Remove the Insulating Strip from the Remote Control
Remove the insulating mylar strip from the battery if the battery is
being used for the rst time. It is located at the bottom back side
of the remote control.
Handling the Battery
Improper or incorrect use of batteries may cause corrosion or battery leakage, which could •
cause re, personal injury or damage to property.
Install the battery correctly by following the polarity (+ and -) indications in the battery •
compartment.
When the battery is exhausted, the remote control will not function. •
Only use the battery type indicated in this manual.•
Do not dispose of the used battery as domestic waste. Dispose of it in accordance with the •
local regulations.
Small button cell batteries such as the one used in the remote control are easily swallowed by •
young children and this is dangerous. Keep loose button cells away from young children and
make sure that the battery holder tray is secure in the remote control. Seek medical advice if
you believe a cell has been swallowed.
Handling the Remote Control
Take care of your ngernails when you press and hold the battery release tab.•
Do not drop or cause impact to the remote control.•
Do not spill water or any liquid on the remote control.•
Do not place the remote control on a wet object.•
Do not place the remote control under direct sunlight or near sources of excessive heat.•
Remove the battery from the remote control when not in use for a long period of time, as it •
could cause corrosion or battery leakage and may result in physical injury and/or property
damage including re.

Using the Car Power Adapter (for in-car use)
The 12V car power adapter allows the unit to be used with vehicles that have a 12V electrical
system.
Power Supply
Using the Mains Adapter (for indoor use)
Only use the mains adapter provided with the unit. Do not use it with any other equipment.•
When the unit is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect the mains adapter from the mains •
socket.
When the mains adapter is plugged in, the unit is not completely disconnected from the main power supply, •
even when the power is turned o.
In order to disconnect the unit from the mains completely, the mains adapter should be disconnected from the •
mains socket outlet completely.
Disconnect the car power adapter when not in use. Not for use in 24V vehicles.•
Only use the car power adapter provided with the unit. Other car power adapters could damage the unit.•
In the interest of trac safety, do not operate this unit or view videos while driving a vehicle.•
Make sure the unit is securely fastened to prevent it from falling or ying through the air in the event of an •
accident.
When the inside of the cigarette lighter socket is dirty with ash or dust, the plug section may become hot due •
to poor contact. Be sure to clean the cigarette lighter socket before use.
After use, disconnect the 12V car power adapter from both the unit and the cigarette lighter socket.•

Using the Built-in Battery
The unit has a built-in, non-replaceable, rechargeable battery. Charge the built-in battery before
using it for the rst time. The normal charging time should be 4-5 hours. The charging light will
go out when the built-in battery is fully charged.
To Recharge the Built-in Battery
The built-in battery can only be recharged when the unit is in CHARGE mode while using the mains adapter.•
The built-in battery cannot be recharged when the unit is in power ON mode.•
The unit and the battery should not be exposed to direct sunlight and other sources of heat.•
When the built-in battery power is low, “Battery Low” will display on the screen and the unit will stop playing.•
Recharge the built-in battery before you are ready to use the unit again.•
While using the built-in battery, the environmental temperature should be 41°F (5°C) to 95°F (35°C).•
To get the longest service life out of the built-in battery, charge at room temperature.•
The built-in battery in this device may present a risk of re or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not disassemble, •
heat above 212°F (100°C), or incinerate.
When discarding the unit, local rules or laws governing the disposal of such products must be strictly followed.•

Connecting a TV
If your TV has audio/video inputs, you can connect the unit to your TV using a standard Audio/
Video cable.
Everytime you power o the unit you will need to reset the Video Out function.

Turn on the unit.1.
Turn on the TV and follow the instructions included with it to play the DVD.2.

Pictures encoding must comply with JPEG/ISO format.•
This DVD player can only display DCF-standard still pictures or JPEG pictures such as TIFF.•
Some recorded les may not be able to be played due to the type and format of disc or condition
of the recording.
Region Code
Both the DVD player and the discs are coded by
region. These regional codes must match in order to
play the disc. If the codes do not match, the disc will
not play.
The Region Number for this DVD player is described
on the rear panel of the DVD player.

Turning on the Unit
Slide the 1. CHARGE / STANDBY / ON switch on the left side of
the unit to the ON position.
The DVD logo (start-up picture) will appear on the screen.2.
After use, slide the 3. CHARGE / STANDBY / ON switch to the
STANDBY (power o) position.
Basic Playback
This instruction manual explains the basic instructions for operating this unit. Some DVDs are
produced in a manner that allows for specic or limited operation during playback. Therefore,
this unit may not respond to all operating commands. This is not a defect.
Please refer to the instructions accompanying the specic DVD in question for more information
about the options available on that DVD.

” may appear on the screen during operation. A “ ” means that the desired operation is not
permitted by the unit or disc.
Playing a Disc
Slide the 1. CHARGE / STANDBY / ON switch to the ON position. See Customising the
Function Settings before proceeding to step 2.
Slide the open switch rightwards to open the disc door.2.
Hold the disc by its sides and carefully place onto the spindle with the label side facing up. 3.
Gently push the disc down until you hear a “click”.
Close the disc door. It takes a short while for your unit to load the disc. After loading, the 4.
unit will automatically display the main menu of the DVD or start playing the DVD.
If the unit does not automatically start playing the DVD, press the 5.
PLAY button.
Pausing Playback (Still Mode)
Press the PAUSE button. To resume normal playback, press the PLAY button.
For a DVD, each time you press the
PAUSE button, the picture advances one frame on a DVD.
Stopping Playback
Press the STOP button at the location where you want to interrupt playback. To resume
playback at the position where the disc was stopped, press the PLAY button.
If you press the
STOP button twice, the unit’s memory will be cleared and reset the disc to the
beginning.
Fast Forward / Fast Reverse
Press the 1. SEARCH buttons while a disc is playing. Each time you press the
SEARCH button, the playback speed changes in the following sequence:

Press the 2. PLAY button when you reach the desired point to resume normal playback.

If only one audio format is recorded on the DVD, the number does not change.•
It takes about 2 seconds for playback to continue in the new audio format.•
Skip (Forward / Reverse)
Press the 1. PREV button to move back to the beginning of the current chapters/titles for a
DVD; and to move back to the previous track for a CD.
Press the 2.
NEXT button to move forward to next chapters/tracks/titles.
For audio CDs, use the number buttons on the remote control to play the desired track 3.
immediately.
Audio Selection
On some DVDs, the sound is recorded in two or more formats. Follow the directions below to
select the preferred language and sound system.
While a disc is playing, press the 1. AUDIO button to show the current audio format number.
For example:
Audio 1/3:Dolby D 2ch English
Press the 2. AUDIO button repeatedly to select the desired audio format.
If only one language is recorded, the language does not change.•
The number of languages recorded diers depending on the disc.•
This function can only be used for discs on which subtitles have been recorded in multiple •
languages.
On some DVDs, subtitles are activated from the main menu of the DVD. Press the • MENU button
to activate the main menu.
Subtitle Selection
While a DVD is playing, press the 1. SUBTITLE button to display the current language setting.
For example:
Subtitle 02/03:Spanish
Press the 2. SUBTITLE button repeatedly to select the desired subtitle language. You can turn
subtitles o by pressing the SUBTITLE button repeatedly until the “

This function can only be used for discs on which scenes shot from multiple angles have been recorded.•
If only one angle is recorded, “•

For the monitor, you can adjust the LCD screen by the BRIGHTNESS control, COLOUR control and Screen
(WIDE / NORMAL) switch on the monitor.
Angle Selection
Some DVDs contain scenes which have been shot from a number of dierent angles. For these
discs, the same scene can be viewed from each of these dierent angles.
While you are playing a DVD with dierent 1.
angles recorded, press the ANGLE button
to view the number of current angles
available.
Press the 2. ANGLE button repeatedly to
change the scene to the next recorded
angle.
After approximately two seconds, •
playback will continue from the new
angle you selected.
If no button is pressed within 10 seconds, playback continues without changing the •
current angle.

Locating a Desired Section
Locating a Specic Title
If a DVD contains title numbers, you can locate a specic title by directly selecting its title
number.
Press the 1. GOTO button to search for your desired title.
Press the2.
buttons to highlight a title eld and then press the corresponding number
button(s) for the title you want.
Press the 3. ENTER button to conrm. Playback starts from the selected section.
For example:

Locating a Specic Chapter / Track
If you know the chapter / track number you want to play, you can locate a specic chapter / track
by directly selecting the chapter / track number.
Press the 1. GOTO button to search for your desired chapter / track.
Press the2.
buttons to highlight the chapter / track eld and then press the
corresponding number button(s) for the chapter /track you want.
Press the 3. ENTER button to conrm. Playback starts from the selected chapter / track.

Locating a Specic Time
You can move to a specic location by entering its corresponding time (hours, minutes, seconds).
Press the 1. GOTO button twice.
Press the corresponding number buttons for the setting point you want.2.

DVD Programmable Memory
You can combine your favourite titles/chapters and play them in the order of your choice.
During the DVD playback, press the 1. MEMORY button and the following display will appear.
You can use the 2.
buttons to move the highlighted bar to any item, and then press
the ENTER button. Input the title (2 digits) and chapter (2 digits) by pressing the number
buttons. (For example: 01 02, 02 05, 02 11.) It will move to the next item automatically. (Press
the PREV button or the NEXT button to move to the next / previous setup page.)
You can use the 3.
buttons to move the highlighted bar to “Clear”, “Exit”, “Start” or
“Next / Prev”, and press the ENTER button to conrm.
Press the 4.
PLAY button to start memory playback. (“
Program
” appears on the screen.)
To resume normal playback from memory playback,5.
Press the a) MEMORY button in play mode.
Press the b)
buttons to move the highlighted bar to “Stop”, and then press the
ENTER button. All the input programs will be cleared.
Press the c) ENTER button to conrm “Exit”. Normal playback will resume. (“

If the title or chapter number entered is not permitted by the DVD, it will disappear. You should •
re-enter the correct number.
You should input items one by one following the 1, 2, 3 ... sequence.•
If the DVD contains only one title, you can only arrange the order of the chapters.•
Some discs may not permit memory playback operation.•
If you select repeat during memory playback, the DVD player repeats the current memory •
playback.
If you press the • MEMORY button while the display appears on the TV screen, the display
disappears.
The programmed selections will be cleared when you press the •
STOP button two times, open
the disc tray or turn o the DVD player.

Repeat Playback
You can play a specic title or chapter repeatedly. (Title repeat, chapter repeat, A-B repeat)
Repeating a Chapter
You can play the same chapter repeatedly.
While the DVD is playing, press the REPEAT DISC button until the
Chapter
indicator displays on
the screen. The current chapter is played repeatedly.
Repeating a Title
You can play the same title repeatedly.
While the DVD is playing, press the REPEAT DISC button until the

screen. The current title is played repeatedly.

Repeating a Single Track
You can play a single track repeatedly.
While the CD is playing, press the REPEAT DISC button until the

the screen. The current track is played repeatedly.
Repeating a Whole Disc
You can play an entire disc repeatedly.
While the CD is playing, press the REPEAT DISC button until the
Repeat All
indicator displays on
the screen. The whole disc is played repeatedly.
To Resume Normal Playback
Press the REPEAT DISC button until the
Repeat O
indicator displays on the screen.
Repeating a Specic Section
You can play a specic section repeatedly.
While the disc is playing, press the 1. REPEAT A-B button at the beginning of the section you
want to play repeatedly (

is displayed).
Press the 2. REPEAT A-B button again at the end of the section (

is displayed).
The unit will immediately begin replaying your selection.3.
To Resume Normal Playback
While the disc is playing, press the REPEAT A-B button until the
AB OFF

the screen.
A-B repeat can only be used within the same title. If the start and end of the section to be repeated are in •
dierent titles, A-B repeat is cancelled.
The A-B repeat function does not operate in scenes where dierent camera angles are recorded.•

Viewing JPEG Files
This unit can play JPEG les recorded on a CD-R or CD-ROM disc (CD-RW is not recommendable).
Open the disc door.1.
Hold a JPEG le disc by its sides and carefully place onto the spindle with the label side 2.
facing up. Gently push down until you hear a “click”.
Close the disc door. A list of folders/les will appear 3.
on the screen.
Press the 4. MENU button or the
STOP button to
display a folder list. Press the
buttons to select
your desired le. Press the PLAY button to start
playback.
You can press the • PAUSE button to interrupt playback. Press the PLAY button
to resume playback.
You can press the •
STOP button to quit playback.
You can press the •
PREV or NEXT button to change the picture.
You can press the • ANGLE button to rotate direction of the picture by 90°.
Some discs may not permit this operation.•

Press the 1. SETUP button in stop mode.
Press the 2.
buttons to select Video Setup
Page.
Press the 3.
buttons to select the option
(Brightness or Contrast), then press the
button.
Press the 4.
buttons to adjust the setting,
then press the ENTER button to conrm.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 to adjust other options. 5.
Press the
button to return to the previous menu.
Press the 6. SETUP button or RETURN button to exit the menu.
Customising the Function Settings
Language Setup
Press the 1. SETUP button in stop mode.
Press the 2.
button to select Language Setup
Page.
Press the 3.
buttons to select the option (OSD
Language, Audio, Subtitle or Disc Menu), then
press the button.
Press the 4.
buttons to select your preferred
language, then press the ENTER button to
conrm.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 to adjust other options. Press the 5.
button to return to the previous
menu.
Press the 6. SETUP button or RETURN button to exit the menu.
Some DVDs may not play in the audio language you selected. A prior language may be programmed on the •
disc.
Some DVDs may be set to display subtitles in a language other than the one you selected. A prior subtitle •
language may be programmed on the disc.
Some DVDs allow you to change subtitle selections only via the disc menu. If this is the case, press the • MENU
button and choose the appropriate subtitle language from the selection on the disc menu.
Some DVDs may not include your pre-selected language. In this case, the DVD player automatically displays •
disc menus consistent with the disc’s initial language setting.
