SUMMARY: Some operators using the above power sources have complained about “sparking” or
“arcing” of the electrode wire that can occur if the wire comes in contact with a grounded work piece
shortly after welding has stopped. The capacitor discharge feature eliminates “sparking” or “arcing” of
the electrode wire.
This factory installed change consists of a small PCB, mounting brackets, resistor pack and associated
wiring mounted to the “A” frame support near the output rectifier bridge.
The PCB and resistor pack rapidly (<1/2 sec) discharges capacitor voltage to eliminate the electrode
“sparking” or “arcing” potential.

OPERATIONAL IMPACT: This modification has no affect on the welding performance of the power
source and is offered as a no charge feature to eliminate the “sparking” or “arcing” of the electrode wire.
ACTION: Non required.
