The cobas

6800/8800 Systems archiveviewer is a
stand-alone software which allows you to view archived
data generated on the systems.
The archive viewer is delivered as a separate executable
file. For ease of use, the user interface is based on the
same tab, panel, and navigation concepts used by the
cobas
®
6800/8800 Systems.

Results from a particular day are opened. You define
filters to search the archived data. The archive viewer
displays the results which you can export. It also displays
the details of each result.

Setting up the archive viewer
To set up the archive viewer, copy the .exe file to your
PC.
The location of the archive server, and the interval for
archiving data are defined over the system:

user documentation.

Data security

r Ensure that files on the archive server are secured.
u For data security guidelines, see Data loss or
unavailability of the system due to malicious software

r To set up the archive viewer
1 NOTICE! Risk of data misuse. Ensure that files on the
archive server are secure.
Copy the archive viewer .exe file to your PC.

You must select the language the first time the
archive viewer is opened.
2 Select the language of the archive viewer as follows:
On the top-right corner of the main panel, choose
the button.
From theChoose languagedrop-down list,
choose the language.
On the Settingspanel, choose theSavebutton.
f The language of the archive viewer immediately
changes to the selected language. The next time
the archive viewer is opened it will open in the last
language that was selected.
3 The language can be changed at any time by
following the instructions in step 2.

Opening a file in the archive viewer
The archive viewer allows you to open archived data as
well as export files.
Versions must be compatible
To open the archive folder, the version of the archive
viewer must be the same or newer than the version of
the archived data.

To view the version number of the archive viewer,
choose the button in the top right corner of
the archive viewer software.
No messages or audit trails in export files
You can also use the archive viewer to view export files.
However, the export files do not contain log entries or
audit trail entries. They are only included in archive files.
r To open a file in the archive viewer
1 Open the archive viewer.
2 On the main panel, choose theOpen archive
filebutton.
3 To open an archive folder, choose the ZIP folder.

Open only one archive folder at a time.
4 To open export files, in the drop-down list, choose the
XML file option and choose the XML export file you
want to view.

Viewing archived or exported test results
The system automatically archives test results at a
predefined time. Archived or exported test results can be
viewed, sorted, filtered, or exported with the archive
viewer.
r To view archived test results
1 On the mainArchive viewerpanel, choose the Test
results button.
2 To view the details, on theTest resultspanel, choose
a test result.
f TheSample ID:panel is displayed, providing the
detail information on the test result and
associated flags.
3 At the bottom of theSample ID:panel, there are 1 or
2 buttons, depending on the type of the test result:
For samples and controls there is
aTrackingbutton.
For pooled samples (available with optional
pooling instrument) there is aTrackingbutton
and aPooled samples:button.
4 At the bottom of theSample ID:panel, choose
theTrackingbutton.
TheTrackingpanel is displayed showing the
following accordions:
Process step datatable. It includes process step
information about the process type, the instrument
and module, the start time, and the end time.

Consumablestable. It includes consumables
information about the type, lot No., serial No.,
expiry date, version, and position.
Sampletable (if test result is a sample). It
includes the rack ID and the position.
Reagentstable. It includes the type, lot No., serial
No., and expiry date.
Control batchestable (if test result is a control).
It includes information about the control, control
batch ID, lot No., serial No., expiry date, and
position.
5 To view information on pooled samples (available
with optional pooling instrument), perform the
following steps:
On theSample ID:panel, choose thePooled
samples:button.
ThePooled samples:panel shows all samples
that are part of the pool from which the user
selected the test result.
To view the details on a pooled sample, in the
Pooled samples:table, choose the sample you
are interested in.
6 If necessary, you can filter or sort theTest
resultstable based on the table headers.

Viewing archived messages

Viewing archived audit trails
The audit trail provides a secure, computer-generated,
time-stamped record of user activities.
All interactions between users and the system are logged
in an audit trail. Audit trail entries are archived and can
be viewed with the archive viewer.

No audit trails in export files
You can also use the archive viewer to view export files.
However, the export files do not contain log entries or
audit trail entries. They are only included in archive files.

trail to view its details.

Sorting and filtering archived data
The sorting and filtering functions allow you to search
easier through the archived data.
The archived data is presented as a table on the
respective panel for test results, messages, and audit
trails. You can sort and filter the data based on the
column headers of these tables.
r To sort archived data
1 Navigate to theTest results:panel, the
Messagespanel, or the Audit trail entriespanel.
2 To sort the archived data table by ascending or
descending order of a column, at the top of the table
click the column heading.
Click the heading again to change the sorting
order from ascending to descending or from
descending to ascending.
r To filter archived data
1 Navigate to theTest results:panel, the
Messagespanel, or the Audit trail entriespanel.
2 On the filter panel at the top of the data table, define
the filter you want to use:
From theselect columndrop-down list, choose
the column name.
From theselect filter criteriadrop-down list,
choose the criteria ("Is equal to", "Is not equal to",
"Ends with", "Begins with", "Contains").
If you want to set an optional filter parameter,
enter the parameter in theenter filter
parameterfield.
3 To filter the archive data using the above definition,
choose theApplybutton.
4 To undo the filter, choose the button.

Exporting archived test results
To create custom reports, graphs and charts, you can
export results to the default spreadsheet software
installed on your PC.
Export format
The archive viewer exports only to comma-separated
values (CSV) files.
The selected test results are exported in a result table.
Each target result is exported as a separate line. The
export includes the following information:

Repeat test

To save time when exporting results, follow these
hints:
If no specific test results are selected, no test
results are exported.
If one or more test results are selected, the
selected results are exported.
Select or deselect all test results using the
check box in the header of theTest
results:table.
r To export archived test results
1 On theTest results:panel, choose one or more
results.

Select or deselect all tests by selecting the check
box in the header.
2 Choose the button and save the file.
