1. Introduction
The OnQ Paradox Security Systems Mounting Plates are to be used to mount Paradox Systems security
controllers in the OnQ service center. The mounting plates can be installed into any OnQ Premium Line or
Plus Series Service Center Enclosure. These Service centers are Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) listed
as “Household Fire and Burglary Warning System Control Unit Enclosures”. As such, any manufacturer’s
security control unit that is UL listed as a “Household Fire and Burglary Warning System Control Unit”, may be
mounted within the OnQ Service Center Enclosure and still maintain its UL listing status.
2. Description
The Paradox Controller Mounting Plate, OnQ P/N 364637-01 supports the Digiplex 48 & 96 controllers, the
Digiplex/NE Access Module and the Digiplex/NE Bus Power Supply. It will also mount the Spectra 1727
controller, the Spectra 7 Zone Controller the Spectra 9 Zone Controller the Esprit 6 Zone Express and the
Esprit 9 Zone Express. The overall dimensions are 6.42 (W) x 8.00 (L) x .75 (H). The plate is black powder
coated steel (see Figure 1).
The Paradox Expansion Module Mounting Plate, OnQ P/N 364638-01 supports these expansion modules.
The Digiplex/NE/SPC Voice Arm/Disarm, the Digiplex/NE/SPC Network Isolator, the Digiplex/NE/SPC 8 Zone
Expander, the Digiplex/NE/SPC PGM 4 Zone Expander, the Digiplex/NE/SPC Print Module, the
Digiplex/NE/SPC 4 Zone Expander, the Digiplex/NE 4 Zone Expander as well as the APR3-ZX4 4 Zone
Expansion Module and the APR3-ZX8 8 Zone Expansion Module. The overall dimensions are 6.42 (W) x 3.00
(L) x .75 (H). The plate is black powder coated steel (see Figure 2). Each mounting plate includes a
hardware kit for mounting the controller to the plate.
3. Installation
Assemble the Paradox System Security Controller or Expansion Module to OnQ Mounting plate
1. Position security controller over the plate to determine which holes are used for mounting.
2. Assemble standoffs in appropriate holes of the plate from the bottom.
3. Attach the controller to the standoffs by pressing the board onto the standoffs.
Note: The security controller is an electronic assembly and should be handled with care as
outlined by the manufacturer.

Mounting into an OnQ enclosure (see Figure 3)
1. Select a location in the enclosure to allow easy
access of the input and output cables.
2. Align the tabs on the module with the slots in the
enclosure. Insert the tabs by angling the module
away from the back of the enclosure.
3. Rotate the module and insert the plunger/grommet
on the module into the corresponding hole on the
back plane of the enclosure. (Plunger must be in
the pulled out position for it to engage the hole)
4. Push the plunger in to lock the module in place.
Pull on the module to ensure the module is locked
properly in place.
Activating the Security system
1. Complete security installation as outlined by
Paradox Security Systems manual.
