3Overview
General Infomation
The application “WAGO Cloud Building Operation and Control” is an application of the
WAGO Cloud. The application is used to centrally collect and analyze data from proper-
ties with technical building equipment. Technical building equipment is understood to
mean technical facilities that are suitable for using a building in an energy-efficient man-
ner and for controlling and regulating it as required. Technical building equipment can be
a central ventilation or air conditioning system, for example. These requirements for a
building are often placed on the following facilities or buildings, for example:
Example: Public facilities
• Schools
• Kindergartens
Gymnasiums and sports facilities
Swimming pools
Administrative buildings
Example: Commercial buildings
Company offices or production facilities
• Workshops
Storage facilities
Example: Sales outlets
Food supplier offices
Wholesale market offices
Retail chain offices
Example: Technical facilities
• Substations
Pumping stations
Wastewater treatment plants
Gas pressure regulating stations
Design
The application “WAGO Cloud Building Operation and Control” is designed to be opened
directly from the WAGO Cloud. The basic functionality is identical to the WAGO Cloud.
The specific functions of the application “WAGO Cloud Building Operation and Control”
are described in this Product Manual. For general information on the WAGO Cloud,
please use the respective & Product Manual.
Product Manual
As a prime example of this Product Manual would be the property management of a ficti-
tious district administration, which maintains and operates educational facilities with tech-
nical building equipment at individual locations. There is a corresponding entry in the ap-
plication “WAGO Cloud Building Operation and Control” for each individual educational
institution in the district administration that contains all transmitted data.

5Starting
5.1 Start the Application
To start the application “WAGO Cloud Building Operation and Control”, a few basic steps
are necessary in the WAGO Cloud:
1. Establishing and Securing an Internet Connection to the Device via ETHERNET
2. Register a New User in WAGO Cloud
3. Register and Connect a Device in WAGO Cloud
The individual steps are described in detail in the & Product Manual of the WAGO
Cloud in Section “Starting”.
The application “WAGO Cloud Building Operation and Control” can only be launched af-
ter the aforementioned steps have been performed (see 8Launch the Application
[}11]).
5.2 Launch the Application

5.3 Import Required Information
The application is structured in such a way that all necessary information is imported via
an external Excel file in .xlsx format. Information itself can be a single entry, for example,
that is displayed in the 8Graphical User Interface [}15]. In the Excel file, all informa-
tion can be managed and structured accordingly so that it is logically displayed in the ap-
plication in a tree structure:
Starting
12 Product manual | Version: 1.0.1
Application “WAGO Cloud Building Operation and Control”
Figure2: Tree Structure with Various Entries
The design and structure of all information are thus defined outside of the application.
How to manage and structure the information accordingly is described in a sample file.
This file is named “Kindergarden_Structure.xlsx” and is available at üwww.wago.com.
Note
Use the Excel file permanently as a template!
An Excel file that has already been created can be used permanently as a template after
the initial import. With each import, the application automatically detects newly created
entries or changed structures and, for example, adapts an existing tree structure accord-
ingly. It is therefore not necessary to hold and maintain several individual Excel files!
Further and additional documentation can be found at üwww.wago.com.
