1-1. SUPPLIED EQUIPMENT

• 1 SMART BOOSTER

(SMB413).

• 1 AC Power Supply Cord.

• 1 VGA M / M HD 15 Cable (1.8 m / 6 ft).

• 1 S.VIDEO (Y / C) Cable (1.8 m / 6 ft).

• 1 RCA / RCA (M / M) Cable (1.2 m / 4 ft).

• 1 RCA F / BNC M adapter.

• 1 Set of 19" brackets.

• 1 User's manual.

1-2. GENERAL INFORMATION

The SMART BOOSTER

™

is a Multi-Way 4 x {1 Input to a 3 way Output} Distribution Amplifier for RGB HV,

RGB/S, RGsB, YUV, Computer, Video & HDTV signals.

Each of the 4 Inputs can be split into 3 separately buffered and amplified Outputs. It is the equivalent of integrating in

the same enclosure, 4 different Distribution Amplifiers of 1 to 3 Outputs each.

splits and boosts any Computer, HDTV and TV sources such as PC, MAC , Laptop, any

Workstation, Line Doubler, Scaler, Video Presenter, Video & Industrial Camera, VCR, DVD, Laser Disc ….

2-1. TABLE TOP MOUNTING

The SMART BOOSTER

™

can be used directly on a table. The unit is delivered with 4 plastic feet.

2-2. RACK MOUNTING

The SMART BOOSTER

™

is compatible with a 19" enclosure. Please follow the instructions below to install the

SMART BOOSTER

™

into a 19” rack:

• Screw the supplied 19" brackets to the sides of the SMART BOOSTER

™

.

• Put the SMART BOOSTER

™

into the rack.

NOTE: The 19" front panel screws are not included.

• Be sure that no weight is added on the SMART BOOSTER

™

in excess of 2 kg (4.4 lbs.).

• The maximum ambient operating temperature must not exceed 40 °C (104 °F).

• The rack and all mounted equipment in it must be reliably grounded to national and local

electrical codes.

2-3. STARTING

Note : All devices must be OFF before connecting.

c Connect the AC Power Cord to the rear of the SMART BOOSTER

™

and to a power outlet.

d Connect your Video & Computer Sources to the INPUTS.

e Connect your corresponding Video / Data Display Devices (TV, VCR, Data Projector, Plasma Screen, LCD

Screen, ….) or SMART CUT 2

™

to the OUTPUTS (up to 3 for each Input).

f Turn ON your Display Devices and all of your Input Sources.

3-1. FRONT PANEL

POWER: LED Indicator.

3-2. REAR PANEL

POWER INPUT: Standard IEC connector (100-250 VAC, 50-60 Hz, Automatic).

COMPUTER

INPUT: On HD 15 female connector.

OUTPUTS (1→3): On HD 15 female connector.

RGB / YUV / HDTV (Compatible for both Video and Computer Rates).

INPUT: On 3 or 4 BNC female connectors.

OUTPUTS (1→3): On 3 or 4 BNC female connectors.

S.VIDEO – Y/C

INPUT: On 4 pin mini DIN female connector or 2 BNC female connectors.

OUTPUTS (1→3): On 4 pin mini DIN female connector (S.VIDEO 1 & S.VIDEO 2)

On 2 BNC female connectors (S.VIDEO 3).

COMPOSITE VIDEO

INPUT: On 1 BNC female connector.

Levels: Y = 0.7 Vp/p with ± 0.3 V Tri-level Sync.

RGB = 0.7 Vp/p with ± 0.3 V Tri-level Sync.

WARRANTY

Analog Way warrants the product against any defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of

purchase (back à the factory).

In the event of any malfunction during the warranty period, Analog Way will, at its option, repair or replace the defective units,

including free materials and labor.

This warranty does not apply if the product has been :

- improperly installed or abused,

- handled with improper care,

- used or stocked in abnormal conditions,

- modified, opened,

- damaged by fire, war, or Natural disasters (Acts of God).

In no way shall Analog Way be responsable for direct or indirect loss of profit or consequential damages resulting from any

defect in this product.

In case of any problem, get the serial number of the unit, a description of the problem, and then call your authorized dealer.
